Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which features the Beautifully Happy stamp set and the Country Gingham 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper! As you may know, the Beautifully Happy stamp set is available during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying purchase, so I wanted to create another inspiration card with this stamp set, using soft colors. Choosing a color pallet doesn’t always come easy for me, so when I chose to use a Mint Macaron design from the Country Gingham DSP, I went to Pinterest so see what color combinations I could find! Never would I have ever thought of pairing Mint Macaron with Pale Papaya! I first thought about using Petal Pink, but I kind of wanted to get away from Petal Pink since I used that color quite a bit for Valentine’s Day cards, so Pale Papaya is a perfect alternative color, especially when I also used Sahara Sand as my neutral base color and really made this card pop with copper foil and heat embossing!
The base layer for the card front is this Mint Macaron design from the Country Gingham 6” x 6” DSP, which I first cut into a 4” x 6” piece, then cut ¾” off the 6” side to use the 4” x 5 ¼” piece for the base layer, the ¾” x 4” strip for the inside of the card, and did not use the 2” x 6” piece:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. From Sahara Sand cardstock, use the second from the largest Layering Diorama Die to die-cut out.
2. From Very Vanilla cardstock, use the third from the largest Layering Diorama Die to die-cut out, stamp the large flower image in Versamark ink, and heat emboss with copper embossing powder. I used Light and Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends to color in the leaves, Light and Dark Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends to color the flowers, Dark Daffodil Delight for the flower center, and the bees are stamped in Sahara Sand ink. This will be layered on the above die-cut cardstock.
3. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with copper embossing powder on Very Vanilla cardstock and is punched out with the small oval from the Double Oval Punch.
4. From Copper Foil Sheet, use the large, scalloped oval from the Double Oval Punch to punch out, this will be layered under the above oval sentiment piece.
5. Use enough of Linen Thread to fold a piece in half and tie into a double bow.
6. You will need three of the 4mm brushed copper metallic adhesive-backed dots, not pictured.
To assemble the card front, adhere the Sahara Sand cardstock die-cut to the DSP base layer, adhere the Very Vanilla cardstock die-cut as shown to the Sahara Sand cardstock, use dimensionals to adhere the layered oval sentiment, a glue dot that I “rolled” to adhere the double linen thread bow, and place the three brushed copper dots in the bottom right corner. This completed piece is adhered to a Sahara Sand cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Mint Macaron ink, the bees in Sahara Sand ink, and adhere the ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the bottom:
For the coordinating Very Vanilla Medium Envelope, stamp the small flower in Sahara Sand ink, the flower in Pale Papaya ink, the leaves in Mint Macaron ink, and the center in Sahara Sand ink:
I just love this card! These colors make this the perfect springtime card! You can easily make several of these cards, just change the sentiment on the inside, which really makes this set great for any occasion!!
