Create your own background with Glossy Cardstock!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun and easy way to use up your Glossy Cardstock! Do you struggle with ideas to use Glossy Cardstock or maybe it’s hidden away and forgotten about? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Lol Stampin’ Up! brought back Glossy Cardstock for a minute (or the current Annual Catalog) and I was so excited because I figured this would give me a chance to use it up! Well, that was an epic fail because the cardstock still sat on the shelf feeling unloved and going unused!! This brings me to today’s card and my fond farewell to this cardstock by creating a background using sponge brayers and ink pads.

I thought the colored cardstock would go perfectly with the Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper layered on top, so I chose colors that would coordinate with the Petal Pink side of the paper. Cut a piece of the Glossy Cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and then use a sponge brayer to first color Blushing Bride ink along the bottom, Flirty Flamingo ink in the middle, and then Melon Mambo ink along the top. One sponge brayer was used for each color:

I used this edgelit die from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits, lining it up along the 5 ¼” side of the cardstock, I used a sticky note to keep it in place, ran the cardstock and die through the Big Shot, and then repeated the process for the other side:

To create the butterflies, I used my template for the Butterfly Duet Punch and used sponge daubers to color the middle Blushing Bride, then Flirty Flamingo ink, and then Melon Mambo ink on the outside. I then stamped the butterfly stamp in memento ink, placed the template back on top, and then stamped the body in memento ink. You will also need this design from the laser-cut paper and the sentiment is stamped in Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the smallest oval Stitched Shapes Framelits:

The laser-cut paper is adhered to the glossy cardstock by using my Fine Tip Glue Pen, the sentiment is adhered with a dimensional, and the butterflies are adhered with a mini dimensional:

This completed piece is then adhered to a Melon Mambo cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, used the flower and butterfly stamp from Beauty Abounds in memento ink, colored in with a blender pen using Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, and Melon Mambo ink:

Easy background to make with Glossy Cardstock! I even could have used it for the butterflies and sentiment! Just goes to show you that even I automatically go to regular cardstock instead of the glossy! If you do not have the laser-cut paper, you can also just stamp the butterflies directly on to the Glossy Cardstock! The Glossy Cardstock and Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Paper will not be carrying over to the next Annual Catalog, so they will only be available while supplies last.

Make a fun birthday card in a snap!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun and easy way to make a quick birthday card! Whether you are limited on time or just want to use up your Designer Series Paper, this quick and easy card can really be used for any occasion when you change up the sentiment used.

The base layer is Powder Pink cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and is embossed with the Tufted Dynamic TIEF:

The next two layers is one of the designs from the Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut DSP, using the white side, and this design from the Garden Impressions DSP, cut at 3 ½” x 5”:

I used the Happy Birthday Thinlit die to cut out the sentiment in Melon Mambo cardstock, but before I cut it out, I placed some of the adhesive sheet on the back. After cutting, I used my Wink of Stella pen to add some glitter to the sentiment:

The two DSP’s are adhered together using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, the adhesive backing is removed to adhere the sentiment on top, and then this is adhered to the embossed cardstock:

This completed piece is then adhered to a Melon Mambo cardstock base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”, with dimensionals:

The inside sentiment is on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock, from Abstract Impressions stamp set, stamped in Melon Mambo ink. I stamped the flowers in the corner in Powder Pink and Melon Mambo inks:

Quick and easy card, right?? The inside sentiment is one of my favorite stamps, it works perfectly whether you are making a happy or sad card!

Create a stunning card with Designer Series Paper!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a quick and easy way to create a stunning card with Beautifully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper! I recently ordered this paper because this is not paper I would typically ordered and I am so glad I decided to! This specialty paper is double sided, one side is Petal Pink and the other is Whisper White, so, if you don’t want to use the Petal Pink side, then you can custom color the white side! How awesome is that?? For my first card with this specialty paper, I thought it would pair with the Petal Promenade beautifully.

For the card front, you will need to cut this design from the Beautifully Detailed paper*, a 3 ½” x 5” piece of Petal Promenade DSP, and I used the Grapefruit Grove Foil Sheet to cut out the smaller of the two detailed dragonflies from Detailed Dragonflies Thinlits Dies. *For the framed pieces that you can trim with your trimmer, I found that these each measure 3 ½” x 5”:

I used my Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the detailed paper to the DSP:

The card base is Petal Pink cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. Since the detailed paper is a little smaller, I stamped the Hardwood Background stamp in Petal Pink ink:

I then adhered the detailed paper to the card base and the foil dragonfly is popped up with a Mini Dimensional:

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, the sentiment is stamped in Grapefruit Grove ink, and the dragonflies are stamped in Grapefruit Grove and Petal Pink inks:

Quick and easy card that is stunning! This detailed paper is so easy to add to your cards for some added depth! The tips that I can pass along for this paper since it is delicate is that the sheet with one design, use your scissors to cut a custom piece as the trimmer will tear this paper and for the sheet that has the card front and other details, you can use your trimmer for the card front pieces, but use your snips for the other detailed pieces. I hope that all made sense! lol
