Basket of leaves

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which was created by starting with the idea of creating a “basket” with cardstock and the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF. Then when you add embossed leaves, sponging, and some copper you get a fun fall themed card! If you like to emboss with your dies, but haven’t yet purchased the Big Shot Embossing Mats, I highly recommend you add them to your next purchase! One of the fun elements these embossing mats add is a raised texture to your embossed image. It’s kind of like turning your embossing dies into an embossing folder!

To create this card, the card base is Cajun Craze cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The base layer is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF. Before I embossed the cardstock, I first took my Early Espresso stamp pad and inked up the embossing folder, which gives your embossed image some depth with the color:

fullsizeoutput_29e9

To create the basket, I used a 2 ½” x 2 ½” piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, used the corner rounder punch from the Detailed Trio punch on two of the corners, embossed with the Basket Weave folder and then sponged on some Crumb Cake ink. For the handles, I used a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and the largest and third largest ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits, used sticky notes to keep them in place, embossed the cutout piece with the Basket Weave folder, sponged some Crumb Cake ink, and then adhered to the basket bottom with glue dots. For the accents, I adhered two of the larger copper sequins from the Metallic Sequin Assortment with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, and tied a piece of Copper Trim around the middle into a bow:

To create the leaves, I used the Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies with Crumb Cake, Mango Melody, and Cajun Craze cardstock. These are first cut out, embossed, and then sponged with ink. The smaller leaves are heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder on Vellum Cardstock and then cut out with the coordinating die:

I arranged and adhered the three large and two of the copper leaves “inside” the basket with glue dots, adhered the small leaf with a glue dot to make it look like it was falling out of the basket:

The base layer is adhered to the card base and then the basket is adhered with dimensionals. The last two leaves are adhered together with a glue dot and then adhered to the base layer with a dimensional:

The inside of the card is a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and I stamped the leaves down the side and bottom in Mango Melody, Cajun Craze, and Crumb Cake inks:

Another fun fall themed card! Have you ever had an idea that you wanted to create with and just ran with it? Sure, I have some retired products that I could use to create a basket, but I wanted to show that you can be creative with the supplies you have with little fuss!

Amazing

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is another feature of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper! I’ve had so much fun playing and creating with this particular design this week and today’s card has some bling! I’m also using two products that carried over from the 2018 Sale-A-Bration catalog, the Celebrate You Thinlit Dies and the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

To make this card, start with Mossy Meadow cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼” for the card base:

fullsizeoutput_24dd

The base layer is the bigger flower element from this DSP design, fussy cut the middle out, round the corners with the Trio Punch, and layered underneath is a piece of Petal Pink cardstock, cut at 3” x 4 ¼”, and embossed with the Basket Weave DTIEF:

fullsizeoutput_24e0

The embossed cardstock is adhered under the DSP and I used a piece of Champagne Foil with the Amazing Thinlit, which is adhered on top of the embossed cardstock:

I adhered a piece of Petal Pink Ribbon (from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack) and a piece of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the back. This piece is then adhered with dimensionals to the card base and added some Clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels for some additional bling to the center of the flower:

The inside sentiment from Special Celebrations is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” of Very Vanilla cardstock stamped in Mossy Meadow. The small flowers are made from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits in Petal Pink cardstock:

This is another quick and easy card, so don’t be hesitant to play around with this Designer Series Paper! This works great with some of the awesome sentiment stamps from Stampin’ Up!

This is two cards made from one sheet of the DSP that is very quick and easy to make! This is another great way to have cards readily available and all you need to do is add words for the occasion!

fullsizeoutput_23db

A piece of the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon is tied in a bow around the DSP and then adhered to the base layer. For the Shaded Spruce base, I used the debossed side of the paper:

This piece is then adhered to the card base, the dragonfly is adhered with Mini Dimensionals, and then I added either Rhinestone Basic Jewels or Share What You Love Artisan Pearls in So Saffron:

For the inside, I trimmed down the ¾” DSP to 5 ¼” and adhered to the bottom of the Whisper White cardstock. The dragonfly is then stamped in So Saffron and Mint Macaron inks and then brushed with Wink of Stella:

Thank you, Big Time

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper! Recently I shared this stunning paper on my business Facebook page, so this week I am going to share with you a few cards that I’ve created using this paper! This is a quick and easy card, which comes in handy when you are limited on time.  You can also make a few of these to have on hand and use any sentiment!

fullsizeoutput_206d

The card base is Mossy Meadow cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2073

The base layer is Petal Pink cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and is embossed with the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder:

fullsizeoutput_2076

For this sheet of the DSP, I trimmed the pieces down and chose the pink roses. I then used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners:

fullsizeoutput_2070

The sentiment is from the Animal Outing stamp set, which I heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder:

fullsizeoutput_2079

Using the 5/8” Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon in Whisper White, wrap around the Petal Pink cardstock and tie into a bow. I placed a Mini Glue Dot behind the bow to secure to the cardstock:

fullsizeoutput_207c

The DSP is then adhered on the left side with Stampin’ Dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_207f

The card base is then adhered to the card base with more Stampin’ Dimensionals and I added some Pearl Basic Jewels to the middle of the roses:

fullsizeoutput_2082

The inside sentiment is on Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used the Make a Difference stamp set for the letters in Mossy Meadow ink and the flower I used the Mossy Meadow and Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Markers:

fullsizeoutput_2085fullsizeoutput_2088

This is the first time I have used the Make a Difference stamp set, which wasn’t too terribly hard! I did use clear blocks to stamp instead of my Stamparatus, so I do suggest that you purchase extra “A” and “G” Clear Blocks if you haven’t already. This just makes it easier to have all your letters on the block before you start stamping, instead of cleaning and removing each one. You can also place a letter on each side of the block (in the corner or end), so you can have two letters on one block! I definitely will be experimenting with this set and my Stamparatus! The benefit of the Make a Difference stamp set is that you can create your own saying, such as I did for the inside of this card, and you can personalize it with the recipient’s name!

Spring Fling Blog Hop!

fullsizeoutput_14ed

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group Spring Fling Blog Hop and giveaway for February. This is my first blog hop and I am excited to be participating with such an incredibly talented group of ladies!

Nothing says spring like a basket of fresh cut flowers and with the Sale-A-Bration second product release, I could not wait to play with the Blossoming Basket stamp set and Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The card base is in Crumb Cake card stock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”, the base layer is from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and then use another piece of Crumb Cake card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”, which will be used with the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF.

On a Whisper White card stock, stamp the flower basket and butterfly images in Memento Ink, letting them completely dry before coloring in with the Stampin’ Blends. For the basket, I used Light Crumb Cake and Bronze, for the flowers and leaves, Light and Dark Pink Pirouette, Light and Dark Calypso Coral, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, and Light Old Olive, and for the butterfly, Dark Pool Party and Light Bermuda Bay. Both images are then fussy cut out using Paper Snips. The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink on ½” piece of Whisper White card stock with the ends punched out using the Banner Triple Punch. A piece of Bermuda Bay Shimmer Ribbon is added to the bottom of the embossed Crumb Cake card stock.

The card is then put together by adhering the Bubbles & Fizz DSP to the card base, adhere the embossed card stock, and then adhere the basket and flower image. Finally, both the butterfly and the sentiment are adhered with Mini Dimensionals.

Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!
