Slim Card Dies!

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a beautiful and easy slimline card featuring the Art Gallery stamp set, Floral Gallery Dies, and the new Slim Card Dies! I was so excited to see the Slim Card Dies (and Slimline Envelopes) in the Jan-June 2022 Mini Catalog! Finally, dies the full length of a slimline card and super cute envelopes, no more using generic envelopes that just weren’t cute. At. All. While the dies are bundled with the Slim Sayings stamp set, I wanted to see what I could create and give new life to products from the 2021-2022 AC! I first started off by choosing DSP, color combination, and then the stamp set and dies, which was so easy to make!

The base layer for the card front is this design from the Daffodil Afternoon DSP, cut at 3 ¼” x 8 ¼” and I used the chevron die to die-cut from a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock, cut at 3 ¼” x 8 ¼”. Keep the leftover cardstock outline from the die, this will be used for the inside of the card, and I kept the chevron die-cuts, which can always be used for another card:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. On Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the flower in Pale Papaya and Flirty Flamingo inks three times, use Wink of Stella on just the Flirty Flamingo ink for each, die-cut out with the coordinating die, and place three of the 3mm Evening Evergreen In Color Jewels in the center of each flower.

2. The large sentiment from Floral Gallery Dies is die-cut out of Gold Foil.

I used liquid glue to adhere the chevron die-cut cardstock to the DSP, just placing on the thicker parts of the cardstock, adhered the three flowers to the left side as shown, adhered the large die-cut sentiment to the right side as shown, and then this completed piece is adhered to a Thick Very Vanilla cardstock card base, cut at 7 ½” x 8 ¾” and scored at 3 ¾”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 3 ¼” x 8 ¼”, adhere the leftover cardstock outline to adhere to the Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the sentiment in Flirty Flaming ink, and stamp the small second-step flower stamp in Pale Papaya and Flirty Flamingo inks:

For the coordinating envelope, I used the Mint Macaron envelope and stamped the small flower stamp in each corner in Mint Macaron ink:

How easy was this slimline card to make?? If you love these new dies, but may be a little bit intimidated, don’t be! Use your creative imagination to pair the dies with DSP and stamps! You can make your slimline card as simple or as detailed as you like, it’s all up to you! Don’t forget the Slimline Envelopes!!
