A peacock with some bling!

Today’s card is another creation using the super cute Beautiful Peacock stamp set from the Sale-A Bration catalog. It’s bright, cheerful, and has some bling!

The card base is in Bermuda Bay card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, and the base layer is in Whisper White card stock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.  I used both of the “feather” stamps on the base layer, first stamping the longer image in Daffodil Delight ink and then stamped the shorter image in Bermuda Bay ink. Using Smokey Slate ink, randomly stamp the two smaller “star like” images. On a piece of Whisper White card stock, stamp the peacock’s body in Smokey Slate ink, then use Sponge Daubers to ink the fan/feather image in Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay inks. The image is cut out using the 4th largest scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits and then adhere some Silver Metallic Thread on the back with Snail and use Stampin’ Dimensionals so this will “pop” on top of the base layer. After adhering the base layer to the card base, I felt like it still needed some bling, so I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Beautiful Peacock and a little Champagne

This week I will be featuring cards from the Beautiful Peacock stamp set in the Sale-A-Bration catalog, which you can earn free with a $50 qualifying purchase.

I absolutely loved the Champagne Foil Sheets that came out in the 2017 Holiday Catalog and thought it paired wonderfully with Berry Burst, so I set out to incorporate it with some “homemade” Champagne Embossing Powder (it’s really just equal parts Gold and Silver Embossing Powders mixed together).

fullsizeoutput_14de

The card base is Berry Burst card stock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”. First you will need to use the Embossing Buddy across the front of the card, stamp the largest swirl stamp in VersaMark ink, sprinkle and shake off the champagne embossing powder, and then set with the heat tool. On a piece of Whisper White card stock you will want to use the Embossing Buddy again, stamp the bird image in VersaMark ink, sprinkle and shake off the champagne embossing powder, and then set with the heat tool. For the feather image behind the bird, first stamp in Blushing Bride ink and then sponge Berry Burst ink around the top with Sponge Daubers. The image is then cut out with the 2nd largest Oval Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Champagne Foil Sheet is cut out with the 2nd largest scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits. These two are adhered together and then popped on top of the card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a piece of ½” Finely Woven Ribbon in Berry Burst tied in a bow with some Pearl Basic Jewels.

I just love the colors of this card and here is an alternative that I made because at first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like how the embossing turned out on the Berry Burst card stock. Which one is your favorite?

Spring Fling Blog Hop!

fullsizeoutput_14ed

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group Spring Fling Blog Hop and giveaway for February. This is my first blog hop and I am excited to be participating with such an incredibly talented group of ladies!

Nothing says spring like a basket of fresh cut flowers and with the Sale-A-Bration second product release, I could not wait to play with the Blossoming Basket stamp set and Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

The card base is in Crumb Cake card stock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”, the base layer is from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and then use another piece of Crumb Cake card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”, which will be used with the Basket Weave Dynamic TIEF.

On a Whisper White card stock, stamp the flower basket and butterfly images in Memento Ink, letting them completely dry before coloring in with the Stampin’ Blends. For the basket, I used Light Crumb Cake and Bronze, for the flowers and leaves, Light and Dark Pink Pirouette, Light and Dark Calypso Coral, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, and Light Old Olive, and for the butterfly, Dark Pool Party and Light Bermuda Bay. Both images are then fussy cut out using Paper Snips. The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink on ½” piece of Whisper White card stock with the ends punched out using the Banner Triple Punch. A piece of Bermuda Bay Shimmer Ribbon is added to the bottom of the embossed Crumb Cake card stock.

The card is then put together by adhering the Bubbles & Fizz DSP to the card base, adhere the embossed card stock, and then adhere the basket and flower image. Finally, both the butterfly and the sentiment are adhered with Mini Dimensionals.

Celebrate You

For this weeks final card featuring the Amazing You stamp set and Celebrate You Thinlits Dies, I wanted to show you how to “up-cycle” leftovers from using the thinlits. Last month I made a card using the celebrate thinlit, which you can see here, and I decided that I was going to keep the bits that were left rather than just throwing them away.

The card base is in Basic Gray, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, the base layer is from the Bubbles & Fizz DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and the Silver Foil Sheet is cut at 1” x 4”. Using scrap pieces of Whisper White card stock, stamp the “let’s” and “you” in Basic Gray ink and cut out by hand to the desired size.

To put this card together, adhere the base layer to the card base, cut a piece of Basic Gray Shimmer Ribbon long enough to go around the front of the card, towards the bottom, and then tie in a knot. Find the position that you want the Silver Foil celebrate on the front, then use the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere to the base layer, and then adhere the little bits in the C, L, and E’s. The “let’s” and “you” are popped up using Mini Dimensionals and added some bling with some Silver Foil Metallic Enamel Shapes.

This was such a quick and easy card to make and you get to use some of those leftover scraps! Let me know what you think!

Amazing You

Today’s card is continuing with the Amazing You stamp set with a little bling! This is really a quick and simple card that the sentiment can be used for any celebrating occasion.

The card base is in Fresh Fig card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, and the base layer is in Whisper White card stock, cut at 3 ¾” x 4 ¾”.

Keeping with the simplicity of this card, stamp the flower image from the Amazing You stamp set in Fresh Fig ink around the edges of the card base and then starting in the top right-hand corner of the base layer, going counter-clockwise. Still using the Fresh Fig ink, stamp the words “you” and “are simply” on the base layer and after this is dry, heat emboss “amazing” in Silver Embossing Powder. Don’t forget to use your embossing buddy first!

To give this card some bling, I used Clear Faceted Gems for the middle of the flower and then lightly went over the flower petals with Wink of Stella. Here’s a close up:

Adhere the base layer with Fast Fuse or your favorite strong adhesive, Snail may not be strong enough due to heat embossing and the embellishments. This is such a striking card and the color can easily be changed to what you easily have on hand. What do you think?

Amazing you

This weeks cards will be featuring the Amazing You stamp set and the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. At first, I had no idea how I wanted to create this card so I got out the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack and this is what I was able to create!

The card base is in Early Espresso card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, the base layer is in the Wood Textures DSP, cut at 4” x 4 ½”, and then the next layer is in Whisper White card stock, cut at 3 ½” x 3 ½”.

Using the flower stamp from the Amazing You stamp set, ink up with Memento ink, and then stamp the image in each corner. The flower was colored in with the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends, using the dark around the edges and then blending with the light. On a scrap piece of Gold Foil, cut out the amazing thinlit with the big shot. Before I put the card together, the flowers were missing something…so I used some Wink of Stella all around the flower and then placed a Gold Faceted Gem in the middle. Here’s a close up:

fullsizeoutput_14b4

The card is then put together by adhering the Wood Texture layer to the card base, positioning towards the top of the card, then adhering the Whisper White layer on top of the base layer, and the amazing is adhered in the middle with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. To tie in the Daffodil Delight, wrap a piece of Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon around the bottom and tie in a bow.

I just love how this turned out and you can easily change it up by using a different color for the flowers and ribbon, what do you think?

You can earn the Amazing You stamp set and the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies FREE thru March 31st with a qualifying order! Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!

You are the sweetest!

Today’s card is brought to you by the Tutti-Frutti Suite from the 2018 Occasions Catalog! I just cannot get enough of this suite and the cuteness you can create! When I set out to create another card from this suite, I first looked at all the paper from the 6″ x 6″ DSP stack to really get inspired, what do you think?

The card base is in Lemon Lime Twist card stock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”, the base layer is in Whisper White card stock, cut at 3 ½” x 3”, and the layering DSP 3 ¼” x 2 ¾”. Using the pear outline stamp from the Fruit Basket stamp set, randomly stamp in Lemon Lime ink around the card base, then stamp the pear and stem stamps in Lemon Lime Twist ink and Soft Suede ink on the card base as well. On a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock, stamp the pear and stem stamps three times in Lemon Lime Twist and Soft Suede inks, punching out with the coordinating pear punch from the Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack, and then stamp the sentiment in Real Red ink, cutting out using the 2nd smallest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. Cut a 6” piece (or however much you would typically use) of the Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon and tie into a bow.

For the assembly, I attached the DSP to the Whisper White card stock base layer and then adhered the Oval Stitched Shape Framelit in the middle. I randomly adhered the pears with Mini Glue Dots around the Oval Stitched Shape Framelit and then adhered the Daffodil Delight bow with Mini Glue Dots in the bottom right corner. This was then adhered to the card base with dimensionals. Isn’t this such a cute, quick, and easy card to make? This would be perfect if you have several cards to make, only changing up a few things as needed.
