Thanks for being you

Hello and welcome to today’s card featuring the Tutti-Frutti 6” x 6” DSP Stack! When I was looking through this paper stack to decide on which one to use, for some reason the rhino from the Animal Outing stamp set (which is in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and you can see my post about this here) came to mind! I’ve been trying my best not to use any new products (use up the retiring to make way for the new), but I just thought this was too cute!!

The card base is Garden Green cardstock cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1ab4

I cut the DSP into three pieces, one piece is 1 ½” x 6” and two pieces at 3” x 4 ½”. You will not be using the 1 ½” x 6” piece, but this is a great piece that can be used on another card:

fullsizeoutput_1ab1

The rhino image is stamped in Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and I used Light Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Smokey Slate, Light Pumpkin Pie, and Dark Pineapple Punch (this color will be available in the 2018-2019 AC) Stampin’ Blends Markers. I used the 3rdlargest square to cut this out and the 2ndlargest scalloped square on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock from the Layering Squares Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_1ab7

To put this card together, adhere the two pieces of DSP to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_1aba

Then adhere the two square pieces together and adhere to the card front with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1abd

I felt the card front needed a little something else, so I used the Real Red hearts from the Brights Enamel Shapes:

fullsizeoutput_1ac0

The inside sentiment is on a  piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Garden Green ink, and the frog on the branch image is from the Animal Outing stamp set, stamped in Memento ink and colored with Light Crumb Cake, Light Old Olive, and Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends:

fullsizeoutput_1ac3

This is such a quick, easy, and cute card that you can change the sentiment on the inside to anything!

I hope today’s card inspires you to get creative! Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog and thanks for stopping by!

Hello Friend!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is featuring products from the Tutti-Frutti Suite! Sadly, all these products are on the retirement list, however, as I am writing this they are all still currently available! If you are looking for fun, bright, and peppy products, then I highly suggest you check them out by heading to my online store!

When I sat down to create this card, I chose this particular piece from the Tutti-Frutti 6” x 6” DSP Paper Stack because it was a 3” x 6” scrap piece! Yesterday I discussed how to cut and utilized every piece from a piece of 6” x 6” DSP and I was determined to use this piece today! So, another way to cut at 6” x 6” piece of DSP is to cut it in half so you have two 3” x 6” pieces and then cut 2” off that piece, so you will end up with two pieces cut at 3” x 4” and two pieces cut at 3” x 2”:

The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1a90

The base layer is Lemon Lime Twist cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1a93

The Burlap Background stamp is used in Lemon Lime Twist ink to stamp on the Lemon Lime Twist cardstock at an angle:

fullsizeoutput_1a96

Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 2 ¾” x 1 ¾”, from the Fruit Basket stamp set, stamp the wire basket image in Sahara Sand ink, the strawberry image in Real Red ink, and the strawberry leaves image in Lemon Lime Twist ink. On a ½” piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the hello and friend stamps in Night of Navy ink and then punch the end with the Banner Triple Punch:

fullsizeoutput_1a8d

To put this card together, adhere the 3” x 4” piece of DSP to the base layer, adhere the Whisper White cardstock stamped piece to the 2” x 3” piece of DSP, and then adhere this to card base:

fullsizeoutput_1a99

The front sentiment is adhered with dimensionals and I added some Tutti-Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Lemon Lime Twist:

fullsizeoutput_1a9c

This is then adhered to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_1a9f

The inside sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink, with the strawberry in Real Red ink and the leaves in Lemon Lime Twist ink:

fullsizeoutput_1aa2

This is such a cute and bright card to send birthday wishes with! So, if you cut a piece of 6” x 6” DSP in half (3” x 6”) and then cut 2” off those two pieces, you will be able to make two cards out of one 6” x 6” sheet! Be sure to join me tomorrow for another way to use up that DSP Paper Stack!

I hope today’s card inspires you to get creative! Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog and thanks for stopping by!

You are the sprinkles!

Hello and welcome to a new week of creating! This week I will be featuring the Tutti-Frutti 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper Stack, incorporating products from the Tutti-Frutti Suite (which can be found on pages 28-29 in the Occasions Catalog) and/or other products to inspire and challenge your creativity!

While I love the 6” x 6” paper stack, I don’t feel I utilize them to their fullest extent and end up with a bunch of scraps. So, I set out to find the best way to cut this paper with no waste! Today’s card is a great example and I will also show you an alternative at the end, the only difference are the color’s used, so let’s get started!

When I decided on this DSP from the Tutti-Frutti DSP Paper Stack, for some reason the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and coordinating Tree Builder Punch came to mind. Now, both of these are on the retirement list and I’m sad to say that I’ve had them since they first came out in the 2015-2016 AC and it has hardly been used! I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but both sides of this DSP stack coordinate nicely when creating a card and I cut the DSP using these measurements: 2 pieces cut at ¾” x 6” and 2 pieces cut at 3” x 4 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1a5f

The card base is Sweet Sugarplum cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½’ and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1a65

The base layer is Rich Razzleberry cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼” and is embossed with the Simple Stripes TIEF (I used the debossed side for this card):

fullsizeoutput_1a62

Of the cut DSP, I’m using one piece of the ¾” x 6” and one piece of the 3” x 4 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1a68

On a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock, stamp the cupcake bottom image in Sahara Sand ink and then cut out. Use the cupcake topping image to stamp on Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and ink and then do the same on a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and ink. The sprinkles from this stamp set are stamped on the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock in Rich Razzleberry ink and then punched out using the Tree Builder Punch:

fullsizeoutput_1a6b

The cupcake layers are then adhered together, the sentiment from the stamp set is stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Sweet Sugarplum ink, cut out using the smallest oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits, and the ¾” x 6” piece of DSP is punched with the Banner Triple Punch:

fullsizeoutput_1a6f

To put this card together, adhere the embossed Rich Razzleberry cardstock to the card base and then adhere the ¾” strip on top:

I tied a piece of Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (this is RETIRED) in a bow around the 3” x 4 ½” DSP (you can substitute for any coordinating color of ribbon or use any Whisper White ribbon currently available):

fullsizeoutput_1a79

The cupcake and sentiment are then adhered to the DSP, I used dimensionals on the sentiment:

fullsizeoutput_1a7c

This piece is then adhered to the base layer:

fullsizeoutput_1a80

The inside sentiment is stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 4” 5 ¼” in Crumb Cake, Sweet Sugarplum, and Rich Razzleberry inks:

fullsizeoutput_1a83

Here is my alternative card using the other two pieces of DSP, I changed the cardstock and inks to Peekaboo Peach and Cajun Craze and used Rhinestone Basic Jewels for the sprinkles, which I colored using Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends pen:

fullsizeoutput_1aa8

Here they are together, which card do you like?

Mother’s Day Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group Mother’s Day Blog Hop and giveaway for April! I’m so excited to be participating in another blog hop with such a talented group of ladies!

fullsizeoutput_1a16

When I started out to create this card, I wanted to keep up with the “challenge myself” theme that I’ve been doing by using up products that are on the retirement list! We have to make room for the new products that are getting ready to come out in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, right?? So, I chose to use the Painted with Love Designer Series Paper and created from that!

The card base is Rich Razzleberry cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_19d5

The base layer is Painted with Love DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_19d8

The next layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3” x 4 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_19db

I used the Timeless Textures stamp set to stamp the background images in Powder Pink and Blushing Bride inks on the Whisper White cardstock layer:

fullsizeoutput_19de

I used the Letters for You stamp set to stamp MOM in Rich Razzleberry ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then cut out with the coordinating Large Letter Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_19e1

The dragonflies are cut out on Gold Foil Sheet using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and I snipped the top and bottom dragonflies off. The middle part is adhered to the Whisper White base with glue dots and then the letters are adhered on top with dimensionals:

Using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set on a ½” piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the letters and image in Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo inks, trimming the ends with the Banner Triple Punch:

fullsizeoutput_19e7

To put the card together, adhere the base layer to the card base, adhere the Whisper White cardstock on top of this, use Mini Dimensionals to adhere the two dragonflies that I snipped off and the little sentiment:

fullsizeoutput_19f0

The inside sentiment is from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set, stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, and Powder Pink inks:

fullsizeoutput_19f3

I love how this card turned out and hope this inspires you to “challenge yourself” when you make not just your Mother’s Day cards, but all cards!

A Glass of Wine

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is my final card this week with the Half Full stamp set! This really is a fun stamp set that uses your creativity! So once again, the challenge is on to use up some of those retiring products! I decided I wanted to use the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper, specifically Tangerine Tango. Let’s face it, unless it’s Halloween or Fall, this is not a color that you would really use and none of this Foil DSP in Tangerine Tango has been used! Lol So, I paired it with Chocolate Chip cardstock (again, not a color I typically use) and this is what I came up with!

To make this card, start with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼” for the card base:

fullsizeoutput_1a34

The base layer is Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP in Tangerine Tango cut at 4” x 5”:

fullsizeoutput_1a37

The next layer is a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock cut out with the largest circle from the Layering Circles Framelits. I then used the Hardwood Background stamp in Chocolate Chip ink to stamp it:

fullsizeoutput_1a3a

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the wine glass and bottle image in Chocolate Chip ink, colored with a Blender Pen with So Saffron, Emerald Envy, and Tangerine Tango inks, and then cut out:

fullsizeoutput_1a3d

I used a piece of Jute Twine (this is retired, but you can find it on the clearance rack for $2.20!!) to wrap around the Foil DSP and tie in a bow:

fullsizeoutput_1a40

The wine glass and bottle are adhered on the stamped circle:

fullsizeoutput_1a43

I used dimensionals to adhere the circle to the DSP, placing them so they will keep the twine in place:

fullsizeoutput_1a46

This piece is then adhered to the card base with dimensionals, again placing them so they will keep the twine in place along the back:

fullsizeoutput_1a49

The inside sentiment is from the Half Full stamp set, stamped in Tangerine Tango ink, and then I used the stamp from Timeless Textures in Chocolate Chip ink:

fullsizeoutput_1a4c

I also wanted to share a bonus picture of the Christmas card that I made this past year:

May Your Glass Be Half Full

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is continuing with the Half Full stamp set! When using this stamp set I tend to want to use Berry Burst or Fresh Fig colors, so I once again set out to challenge myself to use a color scheme that would not be typical and incorporate some items on the retirement list! I don’t know about you, but I have a TON of ribbon and Designer Series Paper that is either already retired or is on the new retirement list!

To make this card, I started with the card base in Tranquil Tide cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1a1c

The base layer is from the Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate, cut at 4 ¼” x 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1a1f

The next layer is from the Wood Textures DSP Paper Stack, cut at 3” x 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1a22

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the wine glassed image in Memento Ink, color in with a Stampin’ Blends Pen using So Saffron and Fresh Fig inks, and then cut out using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_1a25

I cut a piece of Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon long enough to go the length of the DSP and be able to adhere in the back. The sentiment is then adhered on top with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1a28

I adhered the acetate piece to the card base with Fast Fuse, only in the area that would be covered by the DSP, and then adhered the DSP on top:

fullsizeoutput_1a2e

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and from Timeless Textures, stamped the image in So Saffron and Fresh Fig inks, stamping off first:

I hope today’s card inspires you to get creative! Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog and thanks for stopping by!

We improve with wine!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is featuring the Half Full stamp set! This stamp set was first featured in the 2017 Holiday Catalog and I just had to get it! This is such a fun and versatile set that you can use not just for Christmas, but just about any occasion! I’m so happy to see that this will be carried over into the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog because it never fails that sets I think are super cute and should carry over, actually end up on the retirement list.

I wanted to challenge myself when I decided on the Half Full stamp set to use some colors that I would not normally use and are on the retirement list, so I decided to use the Perfect Plum and Rose Red combo. I don’t know about you, but with the color revamp and the retirement list out, I’m definitely on the lookout for ways to use up these items so I can make room for the new!!

The card base is Perfect Plum cardstock cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_19f6

The base layer is Champagne Foil Sheet, cut at 2 ¼” x 4 ¼” and embossed with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF:

fullsizeoutput_19f9

The next layer is Rose Red cardstock cut out with the 2ndlargest Lots of Labels Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_19fc

The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Rose Red, Pear Pizzazz, and Perfect Plum Stampin’ Write Markers, then cut out with the 3rdlargest square from the Layering Squares Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_19ff

I used an Aqua Painter to color in the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink and the grapes with Perfect Plum ink. The wine glass is stamped in Memento Ink on Whisper White cardstock, colored in Rose Red ink using an Aqua Painter, and cut out:

fullsizeoutput_1a02

I stamped the wine bottle image on the card base using Perfect Plum ink:

fullsizeoutput_1a05

To put the card together, adhere the embossed foil sheet to the card base, adhere the sentiment on top of the Rose Red piece cut out with Lots of Labels Framelits, and then adhere with dimensionals on top of the embossed foil sheet:

fullsizeoutput_1a08

I used glue dots to adhere the wine glass on the side and then got out some retired white organdy ribbon, but you can substitute that for Whisper White Organza Ribbon or Whisper White Sheer Ribbon, both are currently available from my online store:

fullsizeoutput_1a0b

The inside sentiment is stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, in Perfect Plum ink and the wine glasses along the bottom are stamped in Memento Ink, colored in with Rose Red and Perfect Plum Stampin’ Write Markers:

fullsizeoutput_1a0e

I really enjoyed making this card and challenging myself to use colors I wouldn’t typically use. Be sure to join me tomorrow as I will be making another creation from the Half Full stamp set and again challenging myself to use up some of this retiring product!!
