Happy Anniversary

Hello and welcome to another day featuring Weddings and Anniversaries! Today’s card is celebrating an anniversary and I wanted to incorporate Painted with Love DSP, but also making it quick and easy.

The card base is Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 ½’ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_17c5

The base layer is Melon Mambo cardstock cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_17c8

The next layer is from the Painted with Love DSP cut at 3 ¾” x 5”:

fullsizeoutput_17cb

I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 1 ½” x 5 ½” and used the Banner Triple Punch on one end:

fullsizeoutput_17ce

The sentiment for the front of the card is from the Number of Years stamp set, stamped in Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White cardstock. It is then cut out with the 5thlargest oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and I used another piece of the Painted with Love DSP to cut out the 3rdlargest scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits. Then adhere the two pieces together:

The Painted with Love DSP layer is adhered to the Melon Mambo base layer:

fullsizeoutput_17d7

The Whisper White banner is adhered on top of the DSP and then the sentiment is adhered on top of that with dimensionals:

I used three of the Rich Razzleberry heart shapes from the Brights Enamel Shapes on the banner:

fullsizeoutput_17e3

The inside sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set, stamped in Melon Mambo ink and the flowers in Pink Powder ink:

fullsizeoutput_17e0

I just love how this card turned out and it is a great way to use up your Designer Series Paper!

Beautiful Blessing

Hello and welcome to another day featuring Weddings and Anniversaries! Today’s card I made for an anniversary, trying out the Polished Stone Technique! If this is something you are going to try, I highly recommend wearing gloves as you will get ink all over your fingers!

The card base is Island Indigo cardstock, but at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_17ae

The base layer is Sahara Sand cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_17b1

The next layer is Glossy Cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”. Since I wanted more of a relaxed, beach theme for this card, I chose Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede ink refills to create the sand appearance and Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise, and Island Indigo ink refills to create the sky. I also used a cotton ball for each color and some people spritz the cotton ball with Rubbing Alcohol, but I found it made no difference:

fullsizeoutput_179e

Here is what the sand and sky look like, there really is no rhyme or reason, just what you want it to look like. The birds are from the High Tide stamp set, stamped in Archival Black ink:

I used the chair and drink thinlits from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies, the drink is in Tempting Turquoise cardstock and the chair is from the Wood Textures DSP Stack:

fullsizeoutput_17ab

The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder on a 1” piece of Sahara Sand cardstock, and the ends are punched out with the Banner Triple Punch:

fullsizeoutput_17b4

I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals for the chairs and drinks, here is a picture of how I positioned them:

fullsizeoutput_17b7

The chairs, drinks, and sentiment are adhered to the top layer and I used Stampin’ Dimensionals for the sentiment. This is then adhered to the base layer and then the card base:

The sentiment is from the Number of Years stamp set, heat embossing in Copper Embossing Powder on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used the stamp from High Tide to stamp along the bottom in Sahara Sand ink:

fullsizeoutput_17be

This was my first time with this technique and even though it’s a bit messy, I will definitely try it again! What do you think?

Using the Timeless Textures stamp set, heat emboss the image using Champagne Embossing Powder (This is made by combining Gold and Silver Embossing Powders) and then stamp the other image in Fresh Fig ink:

fullsizeoutput_178e

Cut at piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at ½” x 4 ½” and a piece of Champagne Foil Sheet at ¾” x 5”. The sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set, stamped in Fresh Fig ink:

fullsizeoutput_1792

fullsizeoutput_1795

I placed some adhesive on the back of the sentiment to secure the 1/8” Sheer Ribbon in Fresh Fig. I adhered the base layer to the card base and then adhered the sentiment with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1798

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set, stamped in Fresh Fig ink, and I used the same stamp from Timeless Texture on the front of the card to heat emboss in Champagne Embossing Powder:

fullsizeoutput_179b

I really love the Fresh Fig and Champagne color combo! You could change the colors on this card to coordinate with a wedding that you are giving this to! What do you think?

Rustic Wedding Wishes

Welcome to another exciting week of crafting! This week’s theme is going to be Wedding’s and Anniversaries! We all know someone that is getting married or celebrating an anniversary, right? This is going to give me the opportunity to get my creative juices flowing!

To make today’s “Rustic Wedding” card, start with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1764

The base layer is Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. This is ran thru the Big Shot using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and I dragged my Early Espresso ink pad across first (inking it up):

fullsizeoutput_1768

The next layer is a piece of DSP from the Wood Textures DSP Stack, cut at 3” x 4”:

fullsizeoutput_176e

I cut a piece of Gold Glimmer paper measuring 2 ½” x 2 ½”, peeling off the back sheet (this helps when you are using a detailed thinlit), and adhering it to a 2 ½” 2 ½” piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. This piece is then ran thru the Big Shot using the smaller rose thinlit from the Rose Garden Thinlit Dies. Since I am only using the outline of the rose, the other inner pieces will be put in a small bag and used for another project:

The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that is cut out with the 2nd smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_1774

To put the card together, adhere the embossed cardstock to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_1777

Then adhere the DSP on top, around the middle:

fullsizeoutput_177a

Peel the adhesive sheet backing from the rose and place that on top of the DSP:

fullsizeoutput_177d

The sentiment is then adhered on top with dimensionals and I added a piece of Jute Twine that I tied in a bow and adhered with glue dots (Note: the Jute Twine is retired from the 2017 Holiday Catalog, however, I have a ton of it and decided to use this. You can use Copper Trim, Linen Thread, or any other ribbon or trim that you may have.):

fullsizeoutput_1780

The inside sentiment and flower are also from the Rose Wonder stamp set, stamped in Early Espresso in on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1783

I really like how this card turned out and you could swap out the sentiment for a birthday or even thinking of you. What do you think of this card?

Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!

For Baby

Welcome to my final day of Baby Week! Today’s card make look complicated, but it is so easy! One of my favorite color combos is Sweet Sugarplum and Berry Burst and since Sweet Sugarplum is getting ready to retire on May 31st, I wanted to try and incorporate into this card.

Start with a card base in Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, cut at 8 ½” x 5 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1735

Using a piece of the ombre’ Berry Burst DSP from the Color Theory DSP stack, cut at 3” x 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1738

Then cut at piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and from the Moon Baby stamp set, stamp this image in Sweet Sugarplum and Berry Burst inks (they are really close in color and it is hard to tell in the pictures the difference):

fullsizeoutput_173b

Using the Large Letters Framelits, cut out the “baby” letters, then place some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to adhere the ombre’ Berry Burst DSP:

I then placed the cut-out letters back and used them as a guide to place the inside of the B and A with Stampin’ Dimensionals in place:

I used a piece of ½” Finely Woven Ribbon in Berry Burst to tie a bow and adhered with a Glue Dot on the upper right side and placed some Glitter Enamel Dots in Berry Burst:

fullsizeoutput_174afullsizeoutput_174dfullsizeoutput_1750

I used the sentiment from the Baby Bear stamp and the star from the Moon Baby stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum ink:

fullsizeoutput_1758

You are now left with the word BABY cut out from the thinlits that you can use to make another card:

fullsizeoutput_1753

This has been a fun week making baby cards! I know this isn’t a typical card that we should keep on hand, but I wanted to share my ideas for making easy cards with you! Have a great weekend!!

Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!

Special Delivery

Welcome to part 4 of Baby Week! When I sat down to create today’s card, I challenged myself to create a card from items that would not typically be used for a baby card. After looking and deciding and looking at my stamps, embossing folders, and thinlits some more, I decided on Up & Away Thinlits, Seaside Embossing Folder, and some additional elements to create today’s card. I chose Dapper Denim for the card color because I also challenged myself to use up some Designer Series Paper that I’ve been ignoring and this color is about to retire at the end of May! Let’s get started!

First start with a card base in Dapper Denim card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1719

To create the ombre’ hot air balloon, I used a piece of Color Theory DSP Stack in Dapper Denim, placed the thinlits on the paper from top to bottom, and then used a scrap piece of Wood Textures DSP Stack for the basket:

fullsizeoutput_170f

The base layer is a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder that I used a Sponge Brayer to ink Dapper Denim ink on:

To attach the basket to the hot air balloon, cut two 1” pieces of Dapper Denim Bakers Twine and adhere with Multipurpose Glue:

The embossed base layer is adhered to the card base and then the hot air balloon is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_172a

I added some sparkle with the Glitter Enamel Dots in Dapper Denim and heat embossing the sentiment in Silver Embossing Powder on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, ½” x 3”:

fullsizeoutput_172e

The sentiments on the front and inside are both from the Special Celebrations stamp set, the inside is stamped in Dapper Denim ink, along with the balloon from the Dare to Dream stamp set. To create the ombre’ effect with this stamp, I simply stamped off:

fullsizeoutput_1731

I really love how this card came out, it was really quick and easy! You could also use the other colors from the Color Theory DSP Stack to recreate this card!

Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!
