Hello and welcome to a new week and a new theme! As you may know, the countdown for Sale-A-Bration is near us, March 31st! So, that means you have less than two weeks to earn any free items that you’ve had your eye on! I decided to change things up a bit and instead of 3 days of ideas, you’re going to get 5!! This week I am featuring the Designer Series Papers that you can earn from Sale-A-Bration, Bubbles & Fizz and Springtime Foils. I really hope you enjoy all these creations I’m sharing with you!
For my first card, I am using the silver striped Springtime Foils Specialty DSP with the Magical Mermaid stamp set. I wasn’t sure how or what I was going to do, but I knew that I wanted to use Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Tempting Turquoise with this DSP.
The card base is in Bermuda Bay, 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, and the Springtime Foils Specialty DSP is 4” x 5 ¼”.
I colored the DSP using a Sponge Brayer and Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Tempting Turquoise inks, starting at the bottom in that order. From the Magical Mermaid stamp set, I used the long stamp with the crabs and shells and stamped along the bottom in Crumb Cake ink. Next, I stamped the seaweed stamp in Tranquil Tide ink just above, trying to make it look like an ocean floor. The mermaid was stamped in Memento ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, then the tail is colored in with Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Tempting Turquoise inks using Sponge Daubers. The mermaids back and arm is colored in with the Ivory Stampin’ Blends and hair is colored in with Light Crumb Cake, Light Calypso Coral, and Bronze Stampin’ Blends. I added some Wink of Stella to the tail for a shimmer effect.
The sentiment is also from the Magical Mermaid stamp set, which I used Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Marker to color just the word, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, and used the 2nd smallest oval Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut out. I felt that looked a little bland, so I stamped the long stamp with the crab and shells in Crumb Cake ink.
Before I started putting the card together, I ran the card base front thru the Big Shot using the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. To put the card together, I adhered the mermaid and the sentiment to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then used more Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the DSP to the card base. For added effect, I used the circle glitter shapes from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes.
What do you think? I just love this card and it makes me ready for some warmer weather and time at the beach!!
Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!
