Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Thanksgiving Theme Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, I’m an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop or you have hopped on over from another site, thank you for letting me share my creation today! So, let’s get started!

For today’s card, I wanted to create something that the recipient would love to display with their fall décor and I thought a step card with the Country Lane Suite and Winter Woods Bundle would be perfect. If you’ve never created a step card, it is actually very easy and can be used for any occasion.

First, start with a base of 4 ¼” x 11” Early Espresso cardstock and score at 1 ¼”, 2 ½”, 4 ¼”, 6”, and 8 ¼”:

You will start folding at the score lines at the 1 ¼” mark, folding up (mountain), next score line will be down (valley), and continuing to the last fold. This is what the end result will look like:

For the front fold, I cut the striped design from the Country Lane DSP to 1” x 4”. For the second fold, I cut the braided design from the Country Land DSP to 3” x 4” and used the framelit from the In the Woods Framelits Dies to create the “hills” by cutting the paper twice to layer them:

The additional elements are a piece of Chicken Wire Elements, cut at 1” x 4” (cutting with scissors is easiest), use the two tree framelits from In the Woods to cut out in Early Espresso cardstock, stamp the sentiment on a ½” Whisper White cardstock in Early Espresso ink, punch one end with the Banner Triple Punch, tie a piece of the Braided Linen Trim in a bow and adhere with a glue dot, and the flower pot is stamped in Memento ink (use your Stamparatus!) on Whisper White cardstock, cut out, colored with Basic Gray, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Early Espresso Watercolor Pencils, blend with an Aqua Painter, and then add Wink of Stella to the cotton buds:

The card base is Early Espresso cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 5 1/8” and a piece of 4” x 4 7/8” Whisper White cardstock is layered on top. I created the scene by stamping the tree stamp from the Winter Woods stamp set in Early Espresso ink, stamped the small ground cover stamp along the bottom of the trees in Early Espresso ink, and then used Sponge Daubers with Balmy Blue, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Old Olive inks for the sun, sky, and ground:

To start putting the card together, I started with the front fold, adhered the DSP to the base, used multipurpose glue to adhere the flower pot and one end of the Chicken Wire Element to the DSP, and then mini dimensionals for the sentiment to help adhere the other end of the Chicken Wire Element:

For the middle fold, I adhered the DSP together to create the hill and then adhered the die cut trees:

For the back fold, I adhered the Whisper White cardstock to the Early Espresso cardstock base, and then used adhesive on the back fold and placed the card base just above the bottom crease:

Here is what it looks like folded together, I used a clear block to weight it down:

For the back, I cut a piece of 2 ½” x 4” Whisper White cardstock for the sentiment, which is stamped in Crushed Curry ink and sponged Cajun Craze and Old Olive inks with a Sponge Dauber:

Here are the dimensions again, especially if you just want to layer the folds:

Step card: cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and score at 1 ¼”, 2 ½”, 4 ¼”, 6”, and 8 ¼”

Front fold layers: 1” x 4” and ¾” x 3 ¾”

Second fold layers: 1 ½” x 4” and 1 ¼” x 3 ¾”

Card base: 4 ¼” x 5 1/8” and 4” x 4 7/8”

Sentiment for the back: 2 ½” x 4”
