To You & Yours-Paper Pumpkin Alternative p3

Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which are two more alternative ideas for the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin, To You & Yours. I decided to “step up” these cards by adding some shimmer paint, embossing, and die cutting. I wanted to create Christmas cards this still used the Paper Pumpkin supplies, but also make them a “wow” card that is still easy to make.

For the card on the left, start with Cherry Cobbler cardstock cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½” for your card base:

fullsizeoutput_2e1a

The base layer is the card base from the kit, which I cut two pieces at 4” x 5 ¼”, I used a sponge and applied Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint all over the front, and after this dried (it dries quickly), I embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF:

fullsizeoutput_2e1d

For the front sentiment, I cut the vanilla plaid base layer at 1 ¾” (this will give you three pieces at 1 ¾” x 4”) and punched one end with the Banner Triple Punch. The sentiment is heat embossed in Gold Emboss Powder on one of the square die cuts, tied a piece of the linen ribbon into a bow, use one of the vellum circles die cut, and six of die cut pine boughs:

fullsizeoutput_2e20

Adhere the vellum circle to the plaid paper and then just place on the base layer (do not adhere). Adhere the pine boughs to the vellum circle towards the top left and bottom right “corners”. Placing the paper and vellum base on the embossed base layer will help ensure that the pine boughs are not sticking out over the edge and will fit in the envelope properly:

fullsizeoutput_2e23fullsizeoutput_2e26

You will then adhere the square die cut over the vellum circle with dimensionals. To complete the card front, adhere the base layer to the card base and then adhere the sentiment piece with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_2e29fullsizeoutput_2e2c

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink. I used the tree from the Winter Woods stamp set in Garden Green ink, placed some Embossing Paste around the tree to make it look like snow, and then used Dark Cherry Cobbler, Dark Daffodil Delight, and Dark Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends to color some Basic Rhinestone Jewels to look like ornaments. The star is stamped in Daffodil Delight ink and then colored in with a Blender Pen:

fullsizeoutput_2e2f

For the card on the right, start with Thick Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼” for the card base:

fullsizeoutput_2e32

The base layer is the card base from the kit, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. This piece is embossed with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF and then I gently dragged my VersaMark pad across, sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder across, and then set using my Heat Tool:

fullsizeoutput_2e35

For the front of the card, you will need to cut out the deer in and flowers in Gold Foil using the dies from In the Woods, cut a piece of the linen ribbon long enough to tie around the deer’s neck (to look like a scarf), I used Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to color the rhinestone in the middle of the flower, two of the pine bough die cuts, cut the red plaid base layer in half (this will give you two pieces at 2” x 5 ¼”), and the sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on a ½” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with the end punched out with the Banner Triple Punch:

fullsizeoutput_2e38

Adhere the base layer to the card base, adhere the plaid paper across the base layer, adhere the deer to the right side, adhere the pine boughs to the plaid paper with glue dots, adhere the gold flowers to the sentiment with glue dots, and then adhere the sentiment over the pine boughs with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_2e3b

For the inside sentiment, I heat embossed this and the deer from the Winter Woods stamp set in Gold Emboss Powder:

fullsizeoutput_2e3e

Aren’t those easy?? So now you have at least four more Christmas card that you can make from this Paper Pumpkin as alternatives! Here is all six cards from this week and if you CASE’d these, you will have a total of twelve cards!

You will adhere the pine boughs together with glue dots, fanning them out. This is then adhered to the rectangle, the vellum piece is adhered to the back of the sentiment, and then this piece is adhered with a dimensional on each end:

To You & Yours-Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which are two alternative ideas for the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin, To You & Yours. I will first admit that I suspend my subscription from time to time, it just depends on if I feel I have enough time to spend playing and creating. I totally forgot to suspend November’s, I really didn’t think I was going to have the time; however, I am so glad I did forget! This month’s kit makes 10 super cute cards, but we all know we love to see the alternatives! These first two alternatives came to mind right away, so let’s get started!

For the card on the left, you will need the Cherry Cobbler and gold plaid base and one of the self-adhesive circles from the kit. Additionally, I heat embossed this deer from the Dashing Deer stamp set in Gold Emboss Powder, cut out the flourishing corner dies in Gold Foil, and used my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends on one of the 4mm Clear Rhinestone Jewels:

fullsizeoutput_2db0

To assemble, place the self-adhesive circle die cut in the middle, adhere the embossed deer on top, adhere the gold flourish pieces in opposite corners, and then adhere the colored rhinestone on the deer’s nose:

fullsizeoutput_2db3

This is then adhered to the card base from the kit with dimensionals and the inside sentiment stamps from the kit are in Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green inks:

fullsizeoutput_2db6fullsizeoutput_2db9

For the card on the right, start with Cherry Cobbler cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and score at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2dbc

The base layer is Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF:

fullsizeoutput_2dbf

I cut the Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler plaid base layer from the kit in half, 2 5/8” x 4”, and then used four of the leaves and the adhesive back sequins. The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, punched out using the Everyday Label punch, and then punched out another in Gold Foil, cutting it in half to layer behind the sentiment:

fullsizeoutput_2dc5

The gold foil is adhered behind the sentiment, adhere two of the leaves on each end, and then adhere to the plaid base with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_2dc8

The embossed base layer is adhered to the card base, I used dimensionals to adhere the plaid layer on top, and added some of the gold sequins for accents:

fullsizeoutput_2dcb

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Very Vanilla cardstock, stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, the leaves are stamped in Garden Green ink, and the stars are stamped in Daffodil Delight ink:

fullsizeoutput_2dce

Aren’t these fun and easy alternatives for the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin?? For the second card, you can easily make two of these at the same time! I can’t wait to create more alternatives with this kit!!

Christmas Holiday Blog Hop!

fullsizeoutput_2da5

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Thanksgiving Theme Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, I’m an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop or you have hopped on over from another site, thank you for letting me share my creation today! So, let’s get started!

When I sat down to figure out what I was going to create for this blog hop, I decided to use the Tags & Tidings stamp set from the Tags & Tidings Bundle. I originally missed this bundle when the Holiday Catalog came out, but I’m so glad I purchased it! Every year I make Christmas Tags and send them to family and this bundle makes it that much easier! One stamp and one thinlit die and you get 16 tags! This is a fun and easy way to use up your DSP and I always have leftover Christmas DSP after I have made my cards. My original idea was going to incorporate the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP, but since that is no longer available, I still wanted to create with the Tranquil Tide and Merry Merlot color combo. The sentiments used are from the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin, To You & Yours, which are super cute and perfect for this card!

The card base is Tranquil Tide cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2d93

The base layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the Tags & Tidings stamp in Merry Merlot ink. This was very helpful to ensure that all the images where inked and stamped onto the cardstock. I also used my Tranquil Tide Stampin’ Write Marker to color in some of the little details:

fullsizeoutput_2d96

For the front of the card sentiment, I used the biggest Stitched Label Framelit to cut out a piece of the Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper from the Joyous Noel 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper, cut at 6” piece of the Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon and flag the ends with paper snips, the sentiment is heat embossed in Copper Emboss Powder on a 1” piece of Whisper White cardstock with the ends punched with the Banner Triple Punch:

fullsizeoutput_2d99

To complete this piece, I used glue dots to adhere the ribbon folded in half and then used liquid glue to adhere the ribbon to the glimmer paper. The sentiment is adhered with dimensionals across the middle:

fullsizeoutput_2d9c

The base layer is adhered to the card base and then the sentiment piece is adhered with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_2daa

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and heat embossed in Copper Emboss powder. I wanted to add a little something extra for the inside, so I used the tree framelit from In the Woods Framelits on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then sponged some Tranquil Tide ink on with a sponge dauber. I adhered this with mini dimensionals, used the ground cover stamp from the Winter Woods stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink and then used a little bit of Embossing Paste, which mixed with the ink and makes it look like there is “snow” under the tree:

fullsizeoutput_2d9ffullsizeoutput_2da2

What do you think?? The Tags & Tidings Bundle really is a versatile set! If you missed out on the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin, you can easily substitute for any sentiment you already have.

September Paper Pumpkin Alternative-Part 2

Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which are two alternative ideas for the September 2018 Paper Pumpkin, Frights & Delights! I have to say that this month’s kit has been so much fun! Whether you are a new stamper or have been stamping for years, this kit really makes it easy to get creative with the supplies you have on hand. For these two cards, I really tried to keep them simple and to keep the supplies used to what the kit provided.

To create the card on the right, start with a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and score at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2934

The base layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I first used the sentiment from the stamp set in Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, and Gorgeous Grape ink randomly around the paper. Then use the two spider stamps from the kit and stamp those in Memento ink:

fullsizeoutput_2929fullsizeoutput_292c

I used the 2” Circle Punch to punch out from the Black Foil Sheet, cut a 1” x 4” piece of the Galvanized Metallic Paper and punch each end with the Banner Triple Punch, stamp both spiders in Stazon ink, and applied the laser-cut adhesive backed sentiment. This is then adhered to the circle foil piece and then adhered to the card base with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_292ffullsizeoutput_2937

For the inside, the sentiment and spiders are stamped in Memento ink and I created a “spider web” using the baker’s twine from the kit and the Fine Tip Glue Pen:

fullsizeoutput_293b

The card on the left is a Z fold card, I first started making the scenery by cutting a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 10 ¼” and then used a Sponge Brayer with Gray Granite ink for the skyline and Memento for the ground:

fullsizeoutput_293f

I used the moon stamp from the kit in Pineapple Punch ink (stamped several times and was easy to line up), stamped both star stamps in Whisper White Craft ink, then heat embossed with White Emboss Powder, and then used the tree from Sheltering Tree in Memento ink. The cardstock is then cut at 2 ½” and 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2942

I cut one of the tag toppers to create the headstone, adhered that to the middle panel with Snail, and then adhered two of the pumpkins, a ghost, and a bat with dimensionals. The panels are then adhered to the 4 ¼” x 11” (scored at 2 ¾” and 5 ½”) Basic Black cardstock base and I added the silver foil sentiment to the right-hand corner:

fullsizeoutput_2945fullsizeoutput_2948fullsizeoutput_294b

For the sentiment on the backside, I stamped the sentiments in Gray Granite and Pumpkin Pie inks and the moon and stars are stamped in Pineapple Punch ink:

fullsizeoutput_294f

Fun and easy alternatives for you! Of course, you can always substitute any of the supplies for what you have on hand! If you are new to stamping, Paper Pumpkin is a great way to get started, contact me today to learn more!

September Paper Pumpkin Alternative-Part 1

Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which are two alternative ideas for the September 2018 Paper Pumpkin, Frights & Delights! I could not wait to get this Paper Pumpkin just so I could create some alternative Halloween cards! This kit is absolutely adorable and these first two alternatives are quick and easy!

To make the ghost card, start with Basic Black cardstock for the base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_28f6

The base layer is from the Toil & Trouble DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_28f9

The next layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”:

fullsizeoutput_28fc

I used the “boo!” stamp from the PP kit on the Whisper White cardstock with my Stamparatus and the “hinge-step” technique in Gorgeous Grape, Lemon Lime Twist, Mango Melody, and Memento inks:

Cut a piece of the Black Satin Ribbon long enough to go around the front of the card and use one of the ghost die cuts, adhering the silver foil piece. Adhere the ribbon across the front and then use a dimensional to adhere the ghost to the ribbon:

Adhere the top cardstock to the DSP and then adhere to the card base:

fullsizeoutput_28ff

The inside sentiment is on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, the “spooky” is one of the laser-cut stickers, the moon and stars are in Pineapple Punch ink, the sentiment is in Gorgeous Grape ink, and I used the ghost outline from the die cut sheet and sponged Smoky Slate ink:

fullsizeoutput_2902

To make the graveyard card, start with Granny Apple Green cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and score at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2905

The base layer is from the Toil & Trouble DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_2908

To make the headstones, I cut three of the tags from the PP at the score line and used a Sponge Brayer with Smoky Slate ink, use the Spooky Bat Punch with the Black Foil Sheets to punch out the bats, and the hill is created with Basic Black cardstock using the die from the In the Woods Framelits Dies:

fullsizeoutput_290b

The bats are adhered with Mini Dimensionals to the headstones and then I stamped the RIP in Basic Gray ink using letters from the Make a Difference stamp set. These are then adhered to the DSP and the hill is adhered on top:

The DSP is then adhered to the card base and I stamped the outside sentiment in Granny Apple Green ink on Whisper White cardstock, punched out with the 1 ¼” Circle Punch, layered this on the Gorgeous Grape piece punched out with the 1 ½” Circle Punch, and adhered with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_291d

The inside sentiment is on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the bats from Spooky Sweets stamp set in Memento ink several times to make the bats very dark and then I used my Black Stampin’ Write Pen to color in the lines. The sentiment is also from this stamp set, stamped in Granny Apple Green ink:

fullsizeoutput_2920

Aren’t those easy alternatives?? The idea for the headstones actually was inspired by a card that I saw on the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club Facebook page! If you missed this month’s kit and are a current subscriber, you can purchase the kit (and refills!) from my online store! Stay tuned for my next post for two more alternatives!
