Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super cute and super quick card featuring the Whale of a Time Suite! When it comes to designer series paper, you can use a design as your focal point or as a subtle background. When I first saw the design I used for today’s card, I wasn’t quite sure how I would make a card with it, but then after some thought, the idea came to me and I even used a wobble again! I just love how my idea turned out!
When cutting this 6” x 6” piece of DSP down to 4” x 5 ¼”, I first cut ¾” along the top (where the Calypso Coral fish are) and then 2” off the right side (where the Pool Party fish start):
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Stamp the whale in Pacific Point ink on a piece of Seaside Spray cardstock and punch out with the coordinating Whale Builder Punch.
2. Four of the darker colored sequins from the Whale of a Time Sequins.
3. Stamp the sentiment in Pacific Point ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the second smallest Layering Square Die.
4. Use the fourth smallest scallop Layering Square Die to cut out of Seaside Spray cardstock, this will be layered under the sentiment.
5. I used a wobble, but if you do not have these you can use dimensionals.
I first adhered the layered sentiment in the corner as shown on the DSP base layer, adhered the whale, and then used my Fine Tip Glue Pen and Take Your Pick Tool to adhere the sequins so they look like air bubbles coming from the whale:
This completed piece is adhered to a Seaside Spray cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, stamp the sentiment in Pacific Point ink, the bubbles in Seaside Spray ink, and adhere the ¾” strip of DSP along the bottom, using the opposite design of the DSP:
Can you believe you are done? This card is so quick to make! I chose to stamp the whale on Seaside Spray cardstock instead of Whisper White because I didn’t what the starkness of the white cardstock and for me, the Seaside Spray cardstock blends in with the DSP design and also ties into the cardstock card base and the sentiment layer. You know what else is great about this card? You can use it for your masculine themed cards, yay!
