My Meadow Thank You Card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which features the My Meadow stamp set from the 2020 Mini Catalog! If you are a fan of the Waterfront and Snowfront stamp sets, then you are going to love the new My Meadow stamp set! What I like in particular with all these stamp sets, is that you can “build a scenery” that can be as simple or as detailed as you like, simply with ink, stamps, and paper! If you’ve been contemplating this stamp set and may feel a little “overwhelmed” as how you would stamp with this set, I thought today’s card would be a great example to share. I kept it very simple, with just a few colors, and can really be used for any occasion.

To start, I first cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3 ¼” x 4 ½”:

Using Seaside Spray ink, I first stamped the stream with the smallest end at the top, turned it 180 degrees, and then stamped again with the smallest end at the bottom. To fill in the grass or meadow, I used Call Me Clover ink with the biggest fill-in stamp on the right side and the medium fill-in stamp on the left side:

The bridge and birds are stamped in Crumb Cake ink and the clouds are stamped in Seaside Spray ink:

I filled in the open area on the left side by stamping the single tree with Crumb Cake ink and the leaves and grass with Call Me Clover ink:

The base layer is this design in Seaside Spray from the 2019-2021 6” x 6” DSP, first cut a ¾” strip off one side, turn 90 degrees, and cut at 4”. This will give you three pieces at 4” x 5 ¼”, ¾” x 6”, and 2” x 5 ¼”:

I decided to make this a “thank you” card using sentiments from Peaceful Moments stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the smallest layering Stitched Rectangle Die:

The card base is Blueberry Bushel cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. The DSP base layer is first adhered to the card base, the stamped scenery is adhered on top of the DSP at an angle, and the sentiment is adhered with dimensionals:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink, and adhere the ¾” strip of DSP along the bottom, trimming off the excess:

This really was an easy card to make! I really wasn’t sure how I was going to stamp this, I just knew that I wanted to make it look like a stream with the bridge going over it. So basically, I started in the middle (or the stream) and worked my way out. Since these are photopolymer stamps, that enabled me to figure out which “fill-in” stamps I could use along the stream. So to sum it up, start simple and with three colors to stamp with at first and then as you become more comfortable with your “building”, add another color or two!

For the card front, you will cut this design from the Wood Textures DSP into 3” x 3” (basically cutting in half, the DSP is 6” x 6”), cut a piece of Copper Foil Sheet 3 ¼” x 3 ¼”, use the detailed leaf die from the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies to cut out from the middle of the Copper Foil Sheet:

Adhere the DSP to the Foil Sheet and then adhere the leaf in the middle:

This is then adhered to the base layer with dimensionals and I used Copper Trim to tie around into a bow:

This is a very quick and easy card, I made four using two sheets of Thick Whisper White and Whisper White cardstock and one sheet of DSP and Copper Foil! This is another great way to use up that 6” x 6” DSP!

The card base is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”.

The base layer is Silver Foil Sheet, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.

The top layer is another piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”. I used the Large Letters Framelits to cut out the word LOVE:

fullsizeoutput_17e6The two rings are cut out of a scrap piece of Silver Foil sheet using the ¾” and 1” circle punches and I created the diamond using a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest scalloped Layering Squares, just using the corner of the framelit and then using scissors to round the two top corners.
