Hello and welcome to another feature with the True Gentleman Suite! While I was surfing Pinterest for some pinspiration (this is a great place to CASE or get inspiration), I saw some cards utilizing the Tailored Punch Tag and True Gentleman Designer Series Paper as the background, but I thought I would take it up a notch and make the whole background (or as much as possible) out of the DSP!
The card base is in Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. Since the DSP is double sided, I punched out 13 pieces with the Tailored Tag Punch and started at the bottom with 3 pieces, working my way to the top. Use Paper Snips to trim any pieces that are off the edge of the cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using the largest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits turned to a 90-degree angle. On a scrap piece of Night of Navy cardstock, the word “dapper” is stamped in Versamark ink (I used tape to mask the words above and below before inking) and then heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder. I then cut the Night of Navy cardstock down so it will fit, used the Banner Triple Punch on the ends, adhered over the stamped word, and then added some Night of Navy Enamel Shapes. I cut about a 4” piece of ¼” Copper Trim, stretching the fibers out, or pulling them from side to side and top to bottom, and then adhering to the back of the square at an angle. This piece is then adhered to the top of the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Do you like how copper is a great accent to these colors? The heat embossing came to me after I made the card because I felt like it was just missing something, I love how this ended up turning out!
