The next layer is from the True Gentleman Designer Series Paper, cut at 2” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1d55

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, the sentiment from the Truly Tailored stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy ink, punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch, and two more pieces of the DSP are punched out with this punch as well. I cut a piece of the Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon and tied a knot in the middle:

fullsizeoutput_1d58

I cut the punched pieces of DSP in half and then used liquid glue to adhere to the back of the sentiment piece:

The 2” DSP is adhered to the base layer and then the ribbon is adhered across:

fullsizeoutput_1d61

The front sentiment is adhered with dimensionals and I used two buttons from the True Gentleman Buttons, linen thread is tied in the middle, and adhered with glue dots. This base layer is then adhered to the card base:

The inside sentiment is stamped in Chocolate Chip and Night of Navy inks:

Castle Easel Card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is part 5 of Myths & Magic Suite Week! For this week’s final card, I thought I would create a castle scene with an Easel Card! It’s been a while since I made an Easel Card, but I thought this would be fun to make into a castle scene! If you’ve never made an Easel Card, it’s actually very easy to make and it can be for any occasion.

The card base is Thich Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 2 ¾” and at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1c72

After you burnish the score lines, the card will look like this:

fullsizeoutput_1c75

The base layer is from the Myths & Magic Specialty DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1c78

I cut a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock to 3” x 4” and embossed this with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder, adding Smoky Slate ink to the embossing folder first. The top of the castle is DSP cut at 1 ½” x 4”, using the Classic Label Punch, and the “drawbridge” is a piece of Wood Textures DSP Stack, cut out with the 3rdsmallest Layering Squares Framelit:

fullsizeoutput_1c7b

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the dragon, flame, knight, and mermaid in Memento ink. These are colored in with Light Lovely Lipstick, Ivory, Light Cherry Cobbler, Light Pumpkin Pie, Dark Crumb Cake, Light & Dark Old Olive, Light & Dark Daffodil Delight, Light & Dark Night of Navy, Light & Dark Smoky Slate, and the Color Lifter from the Stampin’ Blends. These are then cut out with the coordinating framelits, I snipped the mermaid’s tail off because she will be a princess in this scene:

fullsizeoutput_1c7e

I adhered the embossed cardstock and the DSP together and placed the princess peeking out from up top:

fullsizeoutput_1c81

The drawbridge is attached and then I added Black Sequin Jewels at the top:

fullsizeoutput_1c84

This piece is then adhered to the DSP base layer with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1c87

The dragon, fire, and knight are adhered with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1c8a

I used the leaf framelits on the light green 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper and adhered these pieces with liquid glue:

fullsizeoutput_1c8d

I cut this design of DSP to 2 ½” x 4”:
fullsizeoutput_1c90

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in Lemon Lime Twist ink and then sponged Old Olive ink around the edge with a Sponge Dauber. This is then cut out with the 5thlarges oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and the leaves are adhered behind with liquid glue:

fullsizeoutput_1c93

The base layer is adhered to the card base on the lower (or bottom) scored piece:

fullsizeoutput_1c97

What would normally be the inside of the card, this piece of DSP is adhered to the lower bottom:

fullsizeoutput_1c9a

Then the sentiment is adhered to this piece with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1c9d

You have room to write your sentiment above this or you have the backside, which is 4” x 5 ¼”!

One of a Kind

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Myths & Magic Suite! If you are looking for a cute, quick, and easy card to make if your limited on time or need to make multiples of, this is for you! It is also a great way to use up that Designer Series Paper and make room for all the new DSP that is coming out in the new Annual Catalog!

The card base is Tranquil Tide cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1c3a

The base layer is from the Myths & Magic Specialty DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and then cut again at 2”. This is then flipped over, which makes it look like you are using two different pieces of DSP. From the Myths & Magic 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper, cut a 1” piece from the light green glimmer paper and then trim it to 4”:

fullsizeoutput_1c3d

The front sentiment is from the Magical Day stamp set, stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, first inked in Lemon Lime Twist ink, and then use a Sponge Dauber with Tranquil Tide ink around the edges of the stamp. This is then punched out using the Tailored Tag Punch (FYI: this is going to be carried over into the new catalog):

fullsizeoutput_1c40

To create the card front, first adhere the 4” x 3 ½” piece of DSP to the top, then adhere the 2” x 4” underneath, and the 1” strip of glimmer paper is adhered across the seam between the two pieces of DSP. I used a piece of Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon behind the sentiment and then adhered with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1c43

The inside sentiment is on Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is first stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink and then Tranquil Tide ink is sponged around the edges. The smaller stars are stamped in Lemon Lime Twist ink and the larger stars are stamped in Tranquil Tide ink:

fullsizeoutput_1c46

Don’t forget, the Magical Day stamp set, Myths & Magic Specialty DSP, Myth & Magic 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper, and the Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon are on the Retirement List! Lift Your Spirits

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Myths & Magic Suite! This super cute card is very easy to make, a little ink, some heat embossing, and washi tape is all you need! This will be sure to brighten someone’s day, so let’s get started!

The card base is Dapper Denim cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1c18

The base layer is Thick Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1c1b

The wizard from the Magical Day stamp set is stamped in Memento ink and colored in with Light Smoky Slate, Ivory, Bronze, and Light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends. The stars are heat embossed in Silver Embossing Powder:

fullsizeoutput_1c21

I first used the coordinating wizard thinlit so I could mask him before creating the “blue smoke”, then I used the D Clear Block with some Dapper Denim ink and an Aqua Painter to move the ink around the block, and quickly stamped the ink onto the cardstock. To help fill in the spaces that the ink did not color, I used some of the ink from the lid of the Dapper Denim ink pad and the Aqua Painter:

fullsizeoutput_1c24

The mask for the wizard is then removed and I added a small Clear Faceted Gem to his hand:

fullsizeoutput_1c27

Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 1 1/8” x 4” strip and then use the stripe and the stars washi tape from the Myths & Magic Specialty Washi Tape:

fullsizeoutput_1c2a

The ends are cut with the Banner Triple Punch and the sentiment is from the Lift Me Up stamp set, stamped in Dapper Denim ink on a 1” strip of Whisper White cardstock, trimmed, and then adhered to the banner:

fullsizeoutput_1c2d

The base layer is adhered to the card base with Snail and the banner is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1c31

For the inside of the card, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock, 4” x 5 ¼”, use all three rolls for a strip of each across the bottom, the stars are heat embossed in Silver Embossing Powder, and the sentiment, also from the Lift Me Up stamp set, is stamped in Dapper Denim ink:

fullsizeoutput_1c34

Now, since I did not stamp my sentiment first, it came out wrong! So I stamped the sentiment again on a 1” strip of Whisper White cardstock, then used the new Trio Punch to round the corners, and adhered with Dimensionals. Problem Solved!:

fullsizeoutput_1c37

Don’t forget, the Magical Day stamp set, Magical Mates Thinlits Dies, and the Myths & Magic Specialty Washi Tape are on the Retirement List! If you would like to purchase any of these products, simply click on the product list below and you will find them on my Online Store, while supplies last!!

Up in the clouds

Hello and welcome to this week’s final feature of the Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set and the Rainbow Builder Dies. Today’s card is a combination of this bundle and the Up & Away Thinlits Dies, I just love it when two products can complement each other and create an awesome card! As I take you through the steps to make this card, you will notice it is not my “normal” way, starting with the card base and building from there. When I started to make this card, I only knew that I wanted the detailed hot air balloon thinlit, the clouds, the rainbow dies, and that I was going to use the new 2018-2020 In Colors and Gorgeous Grape (these are left over cardstock from yesterday’s post). So, let’s get started!

For the detailed hot air balloon thinlit, I chose to use a piece of Silver Foil Sheet because I felt it would help the background colors pop:

fullsizeoutput_1bb5

Next, I cut a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, 5 ¼” x 3”, and a piece of Whisper White cardstock, 5 ¼” x 2”, then used the cloud top thinlits from the Rainbow Builder Dies to cut the image out. Since I had enough scrap paper left from each, I used those to cut out two each of the other cloud images:

fullsizeoutput_1bb8

From the Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, and Gorgeous Grape cardstock, I cut out the rainbow and the hot air balloon background:

fullsizeoutput_1bbb

To adhere all the hot air balloon pieces together, I used a Fine Tip Glue Pen and this will give you some wiggle room to line up the paper on the back:

fullsizeoutput_1bbe

I decided to Sponge Brayer Balmy Blue onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” for the sky, I felt that with the rainbow and hot air balloons the sky should be very subtle:

fullsizeoutput_1bc1

The card base is Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

fullsizeoutput_1bc4

Since I wanted the rainbow to be peeking out from the clouds, I first put together all the pieces to get an idea of where I wanted them before I adhered anything:

I placed the Gorgeous Grape cardstock down and then positioned it behind the glimmer paper to start building the rainbow (you can always mark the place lightly with a pencil or place a ruler down):

fullsizeoutput_1bcd

I adhered each piece of the rainbow and the clouds with liquid glue, this will give you a little bit of wiggle room to align each piece:

The hot air balloon is adhered with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1bd9

The smaller clouds are adhered with liquid glue and then the larger cloud is adhered to the card base with dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_1bdc

The inside sentiment is on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink, and the hot air balloons are stamped 2nd, 3rd, and 4thgeneration in Balmy Blue (wanted these to be very light):

fullsizeoutput_1bdf

Don’t forget, the Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set and the Rainbow Builder Framelits Dies on the Retirement List! If you would like to purchase any of these products, simply click on the product list below and you will find them on my Online Store!

Did you notice some NEW products used? That’s right! The rainbow was created using the new 2018-2020 In Colors and Gorgeous Grape, which is a new core color! The 2018-2020 In Colors are available NOW in my online store and Gorgeous Grape will be available June 1st! You are the sweetest!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, featuring the Tutti-Frutti 6” x 6” DSP Stack, making two cards with this Flip Fold card! This is a great way to make two cards at once or if you choose two different paper designs, you can make four cards! This super fun card is inspired by Rachal Tessman and you can her video here.

The card base is a full 8 ½” x 11” piece of Basic Black cardstock, scored at 4 ¼” on the 8 ½” side and scored at 5 ½” on the 11” side:

fullsizeoutput_1b0c

This cardstock will then need to be cut diagonally down the middle, so you will have to remove the score blade from your Stampin’ Trimmer to get this piece to fit:

fullsizeoutput_1b0f

After cutting, burnish the diagonal score lines with your Bone Folder:

I chose two coordinating pieces of DSP and cut them each the same; ¾” off one side, 2” off the next side, and then cut the remaining 4” x 5 ¼” diagonally down the middle:

Choose one piece of the diagonal cut DSP from each design:

fullsizeoutput_1b18

If you find that the card fold will not work with the cut DSP, just flip the diagonal cardstock over and burnish:

fullsizeoutput_1b1b

To make the layered circles, use the 2” circle punch on Basic Black cardstock for two pieces and cut out two more circles using the 2” DSP strip to coordinate with the DSP on the card. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the sentiment from the Fruit Basket stamp set in Real Red ink, the solid bowl image in Sahara Sand ink, and the bowl outline image in Soft Suede ink and used the 1 ¾” Circle Punch for each. The watermelon images are stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Real Red and Garden Green inks and punched out with the coordinating punch from the Itty-Bitty Fruit Punch Pack:

fullsizeoutput_1b1e

The circles are layered and adhered together with Snail and I used Mini Glue Dots for the watermelons:

fullsizeoutput_1b21

After I adhered these to the front of the card I felt it needed another set of circles, so I used the 1 ½” Circle Punch on Real Red cardstock and then chose a piece of coordinating DSP to punch out using the 1 ¼” Circle Punch:

fullsizeoutput_1b2a

I used the Bright Enamel Shapes in Real Red and Bermuda Bay to give the front some added cuteness:

fullsizeoutput_1b2e

The inside sentiment is from the Special Celebrations stamp set on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and then I adhered one of the ¾” DSP strips along the bottom:

fullsizeoutput_1b27

Don’t forget, the Fruit Basket stamp set, Itty-Bitty Fruit Punch Pack, Tutti-Frutti 6” x 6” DSP, and the Bright Enamel Shapes are all on the Retirement List! If you would like to purchase any of these products, simply click on the product list below and you will find them on my Online Store!

Thanks a bunch!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a easy “thank you” card, featuring the Tutti-Frutti 6” x 6” DSP Stack, which you can make two cards from one sheet! Since this stack contains four each of the twelve designs, this makes it perfect for creating multiple cards.

The card base is Soft Suede cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_1add

To make the layering squares, use one sheet of the 6” x 6” DSP stack and cut into 3” x 3” squares, which will make 4 squares, and use two of them. For this card, I left the spotted DSP at 3” x 3” and cut the papaya DSP to 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”. I chose a piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock to compliment the papayas, cut it to 3 ¼” x 3 ¼”, and then embossed with the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, using the debossed side for this card:

On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, I used the sentiment from the Fruit Basket stamp set in Peekaboo Peach ink and punched out with the ¾” circle punch:

fullsizeoutput_1aec

To create this card, I started with the embossed cardstock and lined it up with the upper left-hand corner:

fullsizeoutput_1af1

Then layer the other two DSP pieces, the 2 ¾” x 2 ¾” towards the bottom right-hand corner:

fullsizeoutput_1af6

The circle sentiment is adhered with dimensionals and then I added some Tutti-Frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Pumpkin Pie:

fullsizeoutput_1afb

The inside sentiment is from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock and in the bottom left-hand stamp the basket image (Fruit Basket stamp set) in Soft Suede ink and the sentiment in Peekaboo Peach ink:

fullsizeoutput_1afe

Don’t forget, the Fruit Basket stamp set, adhesive-backed sequins, and Peekaboo Peach cardstock and ink are on the retirement list, so you can order these items today by clicking on the products listed below from my online store!

I hope today’s card inspires you to get creative! Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed today’s blog and thanks for stopping by!
