The Simply Elegant Suite!

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a beautiful anniversary card featuring the Simply Elegant Suite! Now, I know when I first went through the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog I said that there were no suites that were on my shopping list, which was true. However, thanks to Stampin’ Up and a little snafu with a stamp set that was provided to demonstrators for OnStage @ Home, we were all give a credit for another stamp set. Since the DSP and trim were on my shopping list and the stamp set was a “maybe” in the back of my mind, that pushed me over the edge to choose the stamp set for my credit and go ahead and get the coordinating punch, which I’m glad I did! I probably have an anniversary stamp set somewhere in my room, but where, I’m not sure, but definitely not an active stamp set, and since I need to make an anniversary card, this suite is perfect!

The base layer is this design from the Simply Elegant 12” x 12” DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and then cut again at 2” along the 4” side. You will flip one piece over so that you will use both designs from the base layer:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. Cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock at 1 ¾” x 5 ½” and slid each end into the punch just enough so that the curvy end is punched out.

2. Cut a 1 ½” x 3 5/8” piece of Basic Gray cardstock and emboss the sentiment in Copper Embossing Powder. This will be layered on the above piece.

3. You will need a 25” piece of silver trim from the Simply Elegant Trim.

4. You will need three of the 3mm Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels, not pictured.

I used liquid glue to adhere the cut base layer DSP to a Basic Gray cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I wrapped the trim around the palm of my hand, pinched the ends to secure, and used a glue dot on the DSP base layer to adhere and placed another glue dot on top to secure, kind of like a glue dot “sandwich”:

I adhered the layered sentiment piece to the base layer with dimensionals and placed the Champagne Rhinestone Jewels as shown:

For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Basic Gray ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” piece of the DSP along the side as shown:

How elegant is this card?? Can we say “hooray!” for Copper Embossing Powder coming back?? Now we just need Silver Foil Sheets to make their way back, because Silver, Gold, and Copper are in this stunning DSP!
