Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a sweet birthday card featuring the Blessings of Home stamp set, Flowers of Home Dies, and the Country Gingham 6” x 6” DSP! The Blessings of Home stamp set is a terrific stamp set for any number of occasions, so I created this card for any occasion and paired it with the Country Gingham DSP to give you inspiration with this stamp set and DSP. No matter your Stampin’ Blends expertise, this is a perfect way to create a soft and springtime themed card with Petal Pink, Soft Succulent, Mint Macaron, and So Saffron!
The base layer for the card front is this design from the Country Gingham DSP, that I first cut into a 4” x 6” piece and then cut ¾” off the 6” side, for a base layer measuring 4” x 5 ¼” and the ¾” x 4” for the inside of the card:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Use the third from the largest layering Stitched Rectangle Die to die-cut from Vellum cardstock.
2. On Basic White cardstock, stamp the flower image in Sahara Sand ink, color the leaves in Light and Dark Mint Macaron, the flower petals in Light and Dark Petal Pink, and the flower centers in Light and Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blends. You will then use the fourth from the smallest Stitched Rectangle Die to die-cut out.
3. Use two of the leaf dies from Flowers of Home to die-cut from Soft Succulent cardstock.
4. Use enough of the Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon to tie into a bow.
5. You will need two 5mm and one 7mm Brushed Brass Butterflies, not pictured.
To assemble the card front, adhere the two die-cut leaves behind the stamped rectangle Basic White cardstock as shown, adhere this to the middle of the die-cut rectangle Vellum cardstock, and then adhere this layered piece to the middle of the DSP base layer. Use a glue dot to adhere the bow, place the Brushed Brass Butterflies as shown, and then adhere this completed piece to a Sahara Sand cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside of the card, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Petal Pink ink, and adhere the ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the bottom:
For the coordinating envelope, stamp the same flower stamp as the card front in the bottom left corner of the Basic White Medium envelope and you can either “custom cut” or if you have an envelope flap die, use the 2” x 6” piece of leftover DSP for the envelope flap:
How quick and easy is this card? Even though Sahara Sand, So Saffron, Soft Succulent, and Mint Macaron are going to retire at the end of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, we can still use them to make pretty cards! I’m definitely going to miss these colors, but I’m also excited for the new core and In Colors!
