Forever Lovely-new look with new Designer Series Paper!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which pairs the Forever Lovely stamp set from the Annual Catalog with the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper from the new 2020 Mini Catalog! Have you ever looked at a designer series paper design and thought, “That looks like very similar to a stamp set”? One of the designs from the Best Dress 6” x 6” DSP did just that with the Forever Lovely stamp set! So what better way to pair products together and give them a new look?

For this card, I used this design from the designer series paper. First cut a ¾” strip on one side, turn 90 degrees, and then cut at 4”, which will give you three pieces for this card, ¾” x 6”, 4” x 5 ¼”, and 2” x 5 ¼”. The base layer is the 4” x 5 ¼” piece of DSP:

For the card front, you will need:

1. On Whisper White cardstock, stamp the flower in Grapefruit Grove ink, cut out with the coordinating die, and place a 3mm Pearl Basic Jewel in the middle of each.

2. Use the large Stitched Label Die to cut out of Champagne Foil Sheet.

3. Use the multi flower die from Lovely Flowers to cut out of Purple Posy cardstock, use the 5mm Pearl Basic Jewel on the two larger flowers, and the 4mm Pearl Basic Jewel on the two smaller flowers.

4. Enough Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon to tie into a bow around the DSP base layer.

5. From Mint Macaron cardstock, use the Lovely Flowers leaf dies to cut out two of the small leaf and four of the larger leaf.

To assemble, use glue dots to adhere the small Purple Posy flowers in opposite corners, layer the three large flowers in the middle with the two bottom adhered to the foil sheet and one adhered with dimensionals, and place some adhesive on the back of the foil sheet to layer the leaves in opposite corners:

This completed piece is adhered to the DSP base layer with dimensionals and the ribbon is tied into a bow along the bottom:

This completed piece is adhered to a Mint Macaron cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Mint Macaron ink, and adhere the ¾” strip of DSP along the bottom, trimming off the excess:

Don’t you love it when you can coordinate new products with something you already have?? I love the pop of color with the Grapefruit Grove flowers and creating this soft color combo! Since this DSP is 6” x 6”, the remaining 2” x 5 ¼” can be used to adhere to your envelope flap (the die from Beautiful Layers works perfectly) or you can use it for another card! Since I don’t want to hold onto any scraps, this will be applied to the envelope flap!

Timeless Tulips Get Well Card

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which features the Timeless Tulips Bundle! This distinktive stamp set not only has some great sentiments for different occasions, but also has a coordinating punch! This is a great way for you to build up your tulips without a lot of work! I chose to make this card a “get well card” because who wouldn’t love to get a beautiful card when you’re not feeling all that great! For the bouquet, I did some “fussy cutting”, which is pretty easy with this stamp set.

The base layer is this design from the 2019-2021 In Color 6” x 6” DSP in Terracotta Tile, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Stamp the large tulip stamp in Calypso Coral ink on Whisper White cardstock two times and punch out with the coordinating punch.

2. Stamp the medium tulip in Terracotta Tile ink on Whisper White cardstock two times and fussy cut out.

3. Stamp the small tulip in Grapefruit Grove ink on Whisper White cardstock two times and fussy cut out.

4. Use enough Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to tie into a bow.

5. Stamp both stem stamps in Old Olive ink on Whisper White cardstock two times and fussy cut out.

6. Stamp each of the leaf stamps in Old Olive ink on Whisper White cardstock one time each, punch out the one coordinating leaf with the punch, and fussy cut the other two out.

7. Stamp the sentiment in Terracotta Tile ink on a ½” piece of Whisper White cardstock, snip off at the end, and use the Banner Triple Punch on the other end.

8. Use a ¾” x 1 ¾” piece of Old Olive cardstock for layering under the sentiment and use the Banner Triple Punch on one end.

First, I layered the stems where I wanted them and then adhered them with liquid glue:

Next, I adhered the two medium tulips with liquid glue and the small and large tulips with dimensionals:

I then adhered the other two tulips and one of the leaves with dimensionals:

Finally, I adhered the last two leaves with liquid glue:

The tulle bow is adhered to the “bouquet” with a dab of liquid glue, the sentiment pieces are adhered together, and then adhered to the base layer. This completed piece is adhered to an Old Olive cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Terracotta Tile ink, and adhere a ¾” strip of DSP along the bottom:

Don’t you just love this stamp set?? Especially since tulips come in a variety of colors, it is so easy to create a bouquet in your favorite colors! If you don’t like to fussy cut, it is very easy to stamp the stems and tulips and then build up with the punch for the large tulip and leaves! This bundle will be available for purchase starting January 3rd, so don’t forget to add this to your list for the 2020 Mini Catalog!!

Timeless Tropical birthday card!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which features the Tropical Oasis Suite from the 2020 Mini Catalog! I was fortunate to win the Timeless Tropical stamp set when I attended OnStage in Portland this past November, but I fell in love with this suite when I first saw it in the catalog! The timing couldn’t be better for the release of this suite after spending a few days with my mother and younger son in Hawaii, I right away knew that the perfect Christmas present for my mother would be a small scrapbook! Since she vacationed with us in the Outer Banks in June, the Come Sail Away Suite was perfect for those pictures, and the Tropical Oasis Suite was perfect for the pictures taken in Hawaii! Since the scrapbook was an 8” x 8”, that left me with several perfect pieces of DSP for card making and to get started on those January birthdays!

For this card, I used this design from the DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, for the base layer:

Additionally, you will need the following for the card front:

1. 2” x 4” piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.

2. A 4” strip of the Braided Burlap Trim, use your fingertips/nails to fray the ends.

3. A ¾” x 4” strip of DSP, this is the back design from the one used for the base layer.

4, Stamp the sentiment in Poppy Parade ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the second smallest layering Stitched Rectangle Dies.

5. One leaf trinket.

6. Use the flower die to cut out one set in Poppy Parade cardstock and another in Petal Pink cardstock. Keep the smallest and largest flowers in each color for the front and the two middle flowers will be used for the inside. You will also need Rhinestone Basic Jewels for the centers.

Adhere the embossed Crumb Cake cardstock to the base layer DSP, slightly down from the top and away from the edge for a dimensional to fit in-between. Adhere the strip of DSP to the base layer with dimensionals (on each end):

Use glue dots to adhere the flowers to the sentiment piece and then use a 4mm rhinestone in the middle of the large flower and a 3mm rhinestone in the middle of the small flower (the rhinestone hides the glue dots). Adhere the sentiment over the embossed cardstock with a dimensional on each side:

Use liquid glue to adhere the burlap trim to the strip of DSP and to adhere the trinket to the burlap trim. This completed piece is adhered to a Thick Whisper White cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3 ¾” x 5”. Stamp the sentiment in Poppy Parade ink and then adhere the two remaining flowers with glue dots (the leaves are big enough to hide the glue dot under):

Isn’t this a super cute card?? Now, Poppy Parade and Petal Pink are NOT listed as coordinating colors for this DSP, but after comparing cardstocks, I thought these coordinated with the DSP better. The strip of DSP is actually that 1 ½” strip that you have when you cut a 12” x 12” sheet down at 4”, I just cut this in half and made two of these cards! Any products from the 2020 Mini Catalog will be available for customers to purchase on January 3rd!

No stamping required!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which features the new Country Club Designer Series Paper from the 2020 Mini Catalog! This is part of the Country Club Suite, which is perfect for the golfer in your life! Not only that, but if you are planning what to make for Father’s Day or have a more bright and colorful cards, this would also be perfect! Yes, I know that Father’s Day is down the road and we literally just celebrated Christmas….just throwing ideas out there! Lol Trust me, I’m still recovering from the Christmas rush to get everything made, out the door, and spending time with family. So, why not show you an easy card to make that requires NO stamping? That’s right, one of the designs from the DSP has a side that you can color (or not) and it cuts perfectly to make 12 smaller cuts at 3” x 4”. I thought this would be perfect to get out both sets of the Watercolor Pencils and the Aqua Painter for today’s card!

I cut one strip at 4” and then cut each scene at 3”, which there are 3 different scenes, and if you cut down a 12” x 12”, you will get 4 of each scene. For this card, I chose to color this scene:

The base layer is this DSP design, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. Enough Whisper White Baker’s Twine to tie around the DSP twice, to crisscross the front.

2. A 2 ½” x 4” piece of Vellum cardstock embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder (I put a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock behind it so you could see).
3. Color in the scenery with Watercolor Pencils using Garden Green for the trees, Early Espresso for the tree trunks, Balmy Blue for the water, Granny Apple Green for the grass, Crushed Curry for the shirt, Night of Navy for the pants, Basic Black for the hat and gloves, mix Balmy Blue and Whisper White for the sky, and mix Flirty Flamingo (very light) with Whisper White to color the arm. I used the small tipped aqua painter to blend (or color) the colors on the DSP. Tip-be very easy with the amount of water used, as you can see I used a bit too much for the sky and the paper will start to crinkle up.

To assemble, I first adhered the embossed Vellum cardstock in the middle of the DSP and then wrapped the baker’s twine around to crisscross the front:

I then adhered the scenery on top with dimensionals and adhered this completed piece to a Night of Navy cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the side:

Viola! Now you have a “no stamped card”! I know, that’s because technically I left the inside sentiment blank! Lol Think of it this way, you can now make some quick and easy “blank” cards to have on hand for any occasion! How many times have you needed a card at the last minute? For me, it’s usually because my husband asks me “Hey, can you make a card for…?” and I tell him I already have one, just need to stamp the inside sentiment!

It’s a Birthday Bonanza!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which features the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper to make this super cute birthday card! This designer series paper is part of the Birthday Bonanza Suite from the 2020 Mini Catalog! Who wouldn’t want a super cute, bright, and cheerful card for their birthday?? As an added bonus, I also used the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder and the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder (this is carrying over from the Holiday Catalog) to give the balloons some texture and was also able to incorporate the Metallic Baker’s Twine & Sequin Combo Pack from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog!

The base layer for this card is this design from the Birthday Bonanza DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. Use the Balloon Bouquet Punch to punch out of coordinating cardstock and emboss with the Coastal Weave and Hammered Metal 3D EF. I used Terracotta Tile, Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, and Coastal Cabana cardstock.

2. Use the Metallic Baker’s Twine to tie to the end of the balloons.

3. Use whatever color/size combo of sequins.

4. Stamp the sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the smallest layering Stitched Rectangles Die.

I first adhered three of the balloons with glue dots to the DSP:

Then adhere the other two balloons and sentiment with dimensionals, making sure the baker’s twine is behind the sentiment and trimming off the excess baker’s twine:

I used glue dots to adhere the bigger sequins and the fine tip glue pen to adhere the small sequin on the corner of the sentiment. This is adhered to a Bermuda Bay cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink, and adhere a ¾” strip of DSP along the bottom:

Isn’t this a super cute card?? If you missed this suite or maybe thought it wasn’t for you, give it a second look! If you are looking for some cute birthday DSP, pairing it with items you may already have is a fun way to change up your cards! The Metallic Baker’s Twine & Sequins Combo coordinate with the Lily Impressions DSP, but as you can see, you just might find another DSP to coordinate it with-just like I did with the Birthday Bonanza DSP! All items from the 2020 Mini and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs will be available for customers starting January 3rd!

New products from the Mini Catalog!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which I’m taking a short pause from Christmas crafting to share with you some NEW products from the upcoming 2020 Mini Catalog! Stampin’ Up! may have changed the name of the Occasions Catalog to the Mini Catalog, changed the layout of the Mini Catalog, but they have not changed the AMAZING products you will find! I was one of the few lucky people that were chosen to be given this beautiful new background stamp set, Breathtaking Bouquet. This was actually an “extra stamp set” that was part of a Prize Patrol from OnStage, and the Prize Patrol winner was to give this stamp set to a complete stranger. I thought what better way to honor this random act of kindness, than to create a beautiful card to share with you and to try out the “whitewash technique”!

The base layer is Sahara Sand cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the background stamp in Versamark ink, and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder:

Since there is a lot of detail with this stamp, I first used my Aqua Painter with Whisper White Craft Ink on the flowers and then used my Aqua Painter with Petal Pink and Lovely Lipstick inks. Tip-you can clean the craft ink off the aqua painter by squeezing the water out of the brush onto a paper towel. You can also “lift” the ink directly from the ink pad to color the flowers. I repeated the process with the leaves and colored them with Granny Apple Green ink:

For the rest of the card front you will need:

1. Enough Petal Pink Metallic-Edge Ribbon to tie into a bow around the base layer.

2. Stamp the sentiment from Peaceful Moments in Lovely Lipstick ink on Whisper White cardstock, punch out with the Tailored Tag Punch.

3. Punch another Tailored Tag piece from Crumb Cake cardstock to layer under the sentiment.

To assemble the card:

1. Tie the ribbon into a bow around the lower portion of the base layer.

2. Adhere the base layer to a Crumb Cake cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”, with dimensionals.

3. Trim the sentiment piece down slightly with paper snips, adhere to the Crumb Cake cardstock layering piece, and then adhere over the ribbon with dimensionals.

4. I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of three flowers.

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and stamp the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink:

Isn’t this a beautiful background stamp? Whether you want to color this in or not, this is a beautiful stamp to make as your feature on a card, just a sentiment! How about that ribbon?? It is actually a champagne metallic edge and there are also Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to coordinate! This is part of the Parian Blossoms Suite from the Mini Catalog!!
