Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a quick and easy card featuring the Sending Sunshine and Waterfront stamp sets! Before creating this card, I sat down with the Sending Sunshine, My Meadow, and Waterfront stamp sets to see what “inspired” me, or really if I could combine Waterfront or My Meadow with the Sending Sunshine stamp set. I felt that Waterfront is more along the same “theme” as Sending Sunshine, but the true inspiration came from one of the sentiments from the Waterfront stamp set. I thought I would stamp the scenery in grays and the sun in Daffodil Delight ink to make that the focal point of the scenery!
For the scenery, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3 ¼” x 4 ½” and stamp the small water stamp in Gray Granite ink, the large water stamp in Smoky Slate ink, and the sun in Daffodil Delight ink:
For the rest of the scenery:
1. Using a sponge dauber, lightly sponge the sky and ground around the water in Gray Granite ink.
2. Stamp the mountains and cabins in Basic Gray ink.
3. Stamp the tree trunks, clouds, and small speck stamp in Gray Granite ink.
4. Stamp the tree tops in Memento ink.
The base layer is this design from the In Good Taste DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and I used a piece of the Whisper White Faux Linen Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack across the middle:
The scenery cardstock is adhered on top of the base layer and this completed piece is adhered to a Misty Moonlight cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the cabin in Basic Gray ink, the palm trees in Gray Granite and Memento inks, and first ink the sentiment in Smoky Slate ink and use a sponge dauber with Daffodil Delight ink over the word “brighter”:
Isn’t this a great, but easy, card?? I really wanted to show you how easy it is to make a quick card and that you don’t necessarily need a whole lot of “extras” to really make a card stand out! The only thing I think I would change, is to stamp the tree tops in Basic Gray ink instead of Memento. What do you think?
