Create a fun Valentine’s Day card with lots of layers and textures!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is an easy and fun Valentine’s with textures and layers! The thought process behind this card started with the Buffalo Check background stamp, which would not be something you might associate with making a Valentine’s Day card. To make this a softer colored card, I chose to use Gray Granite cardstock for the card base and ink for stamping and then for pops of color Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo. I even spritzed some Frost White Shimmer Paint to give this card some added sparkle!

The base layer is 3 ½” x 4 ¾” Blushing Bride cardstock, embossed with the Subtle Dynamic TIEF, and then I spritzed Frost White Shimmer Paint (I filled a Stampin’ Spritzer with Rubbing Alcohol and a few drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint). The next layer is 3 ¼” x 4 ½” Whisper White cardstock and the Buffalo Check background stamp is stamped in Gray Granite ink:

For the front of the card I used the hearts from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits, the largest heart is a left over from another card I made from Vellum cardstock, the detailed heart is cut out of Melon Mambo cardstock (I placed a piece of adhesive sheet on the back before cutting out), use the 2ndsmallest elongated heart to cut out Blushing Bride cardstock, then embossing with the Garden Trellis TIEF, and tie a piece of the Gray Granite Textured Weave Ribbon into a small knot:

To assemble the front, use a strong adhesive or liquid glue to adhere the embossed Blushing Bride cardstock to the card base at a slight angle, the cardstock may be a little warped from embossing and spritzing, then adhere the stamped cardstock on top at a slight angle the other direction:

The vellum heart is layered on top of the stamped cardstock, I used a small amount of Snail where the embossed heart will be, adhering the embossed heart with a dimensional, and then taking the adhesive sheet backing off the detailed heart, placing it on top of the vellum heart (this helps adhere the vellum heart in place). The knotted ribbon is adhered with glue dots:

The inside sentiment is from the Forever Lovely stamp set on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock, the multiple heart stamp is in Blushing Bride ink, the small hearts are stamped in Gray Granite ink, and the sentiment is stamped in Melon Mambo ink:

This is such a quick and easy card to make! Don’t need a Valentine’s Day card, this can easily be used for a wedding, anniversary, or even a birthday card!
