Welcome to part 4 of Baby Week! When I sat down to create today’s card, I challenged myself to create a card from items that would not typically be used for a baby card. After looking and deciding and looking at my stamps, embossing folders, and thinlits some more, I decided on Up & Away Thinlits, Seaside Embossing Folder, and some additional elements to create today’s card. I chose Dapper Denim for the card color because I also challenged myself to use up some Designer Series Paper that I’ve been ignoring and this color is about to retire at the end of May! Let’s get started!

First start with a card base in Dapper Denim card stock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”:

To create the ombre’ hot air balloon, I used a piece of Color Theory DSP Stack in Dapper Denim, placed the thinlits on the paper from top to bottom, and then used a scrap piece of Wood Textures DSP Stack for the basket:

The base layer is a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder that I used a Sponge Brayer to ink Dapper Denim ink on:

To attach the basket to the hot air balloon, cut two 1” pieces of Dapper Denim Bakers Twine and adhere with Multipurpose Glue:

The embossed base layer is adhered to the card base and then the hot air balloon is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals:

I added some sparkle with the Glitter Enamel Dots in Dapper Denim and heat embossing the sentiment in Silver Embossing Powder on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, ½” x 3”:

fullsizeoutput_172e

The sentiments on the front and inside are both from the Special Celebrations stamp set, the inside is stamped in Dapper Denim ink, along with the balloon from the Dare to Dream stamp set. To create the ombre’ effect with this stamp, I simply stamped off:

I really love how this card came out, it was really quick and easy! You could also use the other colors from the Color Theory DSP Stack to recreate this card!

A little something with Baby Bear

Welcome to part 3 of Baby Week! Today I am featuring the Baby Bear stamp set with the True Gentleman DSP! While I was looking thru my Designer Series Paper stash, I saw the plaid paper and thought it would be great to use for a boy card. For this particular card, I am making the Joy Fold Card that my friend and fellow demonstrator, Rachael Rife aka Rachthestamper, featured last October (you can head over to her blog post here). I made a birthday card for a friend’s daughter’s 1st birthday and wanted to recreate this card. I will post a picture of that card at the bottom of this post!

The card base is in Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½” and again at 2 ¾”:

fullsizeoutput_16de

The inside base is in Crumb Cake cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 7 ½” and scored at 3 ¾”:

fullsizeoutput_16e1

For the card base layers, I used the plaid design from the True Gentleman DSP, one piece cut at 4” x 5 ¼” and two pieces cut at 4” x 2 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_16e7

The inside card layers are in Very Vanilla cardstock, 2 pieces cut at 3 ½”:

fullsizeoutput_16e4

I stamped the bear image on one of the Very Vanilla pieces, the stamps are numbered 1, 2, and 3, I started with #3 in Chocolate Chip ink, #2 in Crumb Cake ink, and #1 sponging on Crumb Cake ink. I then used some of the Timeless Textures stamp in Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake inks around the edges. This piece is then adhered to outside of the Crumb Cake inside base layer:

fullsizeoutput_16eafullsizeoutput_16edfullsizeoutput_16f4

The sentiment is also from the Baby Bear stamp set, stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on the other Very Vanilla layer, and then adhered to the inside of the Crumb Cake inside base layer:

fullsizeoutput_16fa

The plaid DSP is then adhered to the Night of Navy card base:

fullsizeoutput_16f1

I used Multipurpose Glue on the back of the Crumb Cake base layer so it would give me some time to position it on top of the card base:

fullsizeoutput_16fd

The outside sentiment is from the Moon Baby stamp set, stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, cut out with the 2nd smallest oval, layered on top of Night of Navy cardstock, cut out on the 2nd smallest scalloped oval, both from the Layering Ovals Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_16f7

This is then positioned on the front flap so it will hold the Crumb Cake flap, adhering Stampin Dimensionals on the left side of the oval. I then used a piece of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine, folded in two, tied in a bow, and adhered with Mini Glue Dots:

fullsizeoutput_1702

Below is a picture of the card I created last October, this really is a fun card to make for any occasion by changing up the paper and stamp sets!

Sweet as can be!

Today I’m sharing another creation from the Moon Baby and Dare to Dream stamp sets! This is really the first time I’ve used Dare to Dream, which is a hostess set from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog, considering it’s been sitting on my shelf since I won it at OnStage last April!

I first started with a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼” and again at 2 1/8”:

fullsizeoutput_16b6

After folding the front panel pieces, I used the “hot air balloon” from Dare to Dream and stamped in Melon Mambo ink:

fullsizeoutput_16b9

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the “baby with the umbrella” in Black Archival ink. The Designer Series Paper used is from Painted with Love, cut out with the largest scalloped Layering Squares Framelits, and the baby is cut out with the 2nd largest square framelit:

fullsizeoutput_16c1

Then color in the umbrella with Melon Mambo Stampin Write Marker, the baby’s pajamas with the Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker, the baby’s hands and face are colored in with Ivory Stampin’ Blends, and the hair with Bronze Stampin’ Write Marker. This is then adhered to the scalloped square piece of DSP:

fullsizeoutput_16c7

The inside is a piece of 1 ½” x 5 ½” DSP and a piece of 2 5/8” x 5 ½” Whisper White cardstock. I used Multipurpose Glue on these pieces to give me a chance to set them on the inside. The sentiment is from Dare to Dream, stamped in Melon Mambo ink, and added some stars in Powder Pink ink. I used adhesive on the left side of the layering square piece, centering in the middle:

With the different colors on this DSP, you could change to Powder Pink or even Rich Razzleberry! I love this super cute card, what do you think?

Celebrating Baby!

Hello and welcome to a new week and a new theme! This week I am Celebrating Baby by featuring cards for a baby shower or to welcome a newborn! Today’s card is from the Moon Baby stamp set, which originally came out in the 2017 Occasions Catalog and then was carried over to the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. This was one of the first stamp sets I purchased from the 2017 Occasions Catalog, I just thought it was so sweet and would be a perfect addition as I did not have any baby stamps. I went with a more neutral theme, but you could change the colors to reflect a boy or a girl.

I first started by stamping the “baby in the moon” stamp on a piece of Whisper White cardstock in Black Archival Ink. I used the Ivory and Bronze Stampin’ Blends to color in the skin and hair, then used a Blender Pen to color the moon in So Saffron ink, the baby’s pajamas in Wild Wasabi ink, and the star in Smoky Slate ink with some Wink of Stella. This piece is then cut out:

fullsizeoutput_1691

Next, I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¾”, which I used a Sponge Brayer to completely color in Pool Party ink:

fullsizeoutput_1694

I used Stampin’ Sponges to add Tempting Turquoise and Night of Navy inks:

Give this a few minutes to dry completely, use the Embossing Buddy over the whole area, stamp the “three stars” stamp in Versamark ink, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder, and then heat emboss with your Heat Tool:

fullsizeoutput_16a3

The base layer is a Silver Foil Sheet, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder:

fullsizeoutput_16a6

The sentiment is also from the Moon Baby stamp set, on a piece of Whisper White, first stamped in Versamark, then stamped in Pool Party, and I used Clear Embossing Powder which is set with the Heat Tool. This is then cut out with the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits:

fullsizeoutput_16a9

To put this card together, I used a piece of Pool Party cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”, adhered the two base pieces together, and then adhered the moon baby and sentiment on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals:

fullsizeoutput_16b0

Isn’t this a super cute card?? If you were giving this at a baby shower, the colors could be coordinated!!

Happy Wishes

Hello and welcome to part 5 of this week’s Sale-A-Bration spotlight on stamp sets! Today I created two quick and easy cards with the Happy Wishes stamp set! You can earn this free with a qualifying $100.00 order and if you are looking for a stamp set with lots of saying, this is it! But don’t delay, Sale-A-Bration ends tomorrow, Saturday March 31st!

Happy Day card:

The card base is Berry Burst cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, and the base layer is Berry Burst Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”.

From the Myths & Magic 6” x 6” Glimmer Paper, cut at piece of the iridescent paper 2” x 5 ¼” and punch the end out with the Banner Triple Punch.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the “happy” stamp in Basic Gray Archival ink, color the leaves with Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker, and the flowers are colored in Blushing Bride, Berry Burst, and Rich Razzleberry inks. I used the Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker but used a Blender Pen with the Berry Burst and Rich Razzleberry inks since the markers were too dark for me. The “day” sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst ink. This is then cut out with the 2nd largest Lots of Labels Thinlits and I used some Snail on the back to adhere some Silver Metallic Thread.

To put this card together, I adhered the glimmer paper with Fast Fuse to the Foil DSP layer, adhered that to the card base, and adhered the sentiment in the middle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the “best” in Basic Gray Archival ink, color the leaves with Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker and color the flowers with a Blender Pen and Tempting Turquoise and Soft Sky inks. The “wishes” sentiment is stamped in Tempting Turquoise ink. This is then cut out with the 3rd largest Lots of Labels Thinlits and I used some Snail on the back to adhere some Silver Metallic Thread.

To put this card together, I adhered the glimmer paper with Fast Fuse to the Foil DSP layer, adhered that to the card base, and adhered the sentiment in the middle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Celebrate You

Hello and welcome to part 4 of this week’s Sale-A-Bration spotlight on stamp sets! Today I will be featuring the Amazing You stamp set with the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies. You can earn the Amazing You stamp set with a qualifying $50.00 order or the Celebrate You Thinlits Dies with a qualifying $100.00 order, however, the Celebrate You Thinlits will be carried over into the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog for purchase.

When making these fun cards, I decided to make two cards with the 2016-2018 In Colors that will be retiring on May 31st, one soft and subtle and one bright and cheerful! The color pallet I used for the first card is Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum, and Perfect Plum. The color pallet I used for the second card is Daffodil Delight, Emerald Envy, and Dapper Denim.

The card base is Sweet Sugarplum/Daffodil Delight cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. The base layer is Perfect Plum/Dapper Denim cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. The second layer is Whisper White cardstock, cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¾”.

On the Whisper White cardstock, first use your Embossing Buddy across the paper, using the “burst” stamp with Versamark ink, stamp along the bottom and left side, then sprinkle White Embossing Powder across the stamped images, and set with the Heat Tool. Using a Sponge Dauber, color the embossed image with the colors in a circular motion, you can use a tissue or paper towel to wipe the ink off the embossing to make it white again and stand out.

For one card, I used a piece of Champagne Foil and Blushing Bride cardstock to cut out the Celebrate. For the other card, I used Gold Foil and Emerald Envy cardstock to cut out the Celebrate, gluing them together slightly off to make the cardstock look like a shadow. I cut Mini Dimensionals in half and placed them along the back of the Celebrate and then placed on the Whisper White cardstock. The “you” stamp from this set is stamped in either Sweet Sugarplum or Dapper Denim inks.

fullsizeoutput_1638fullsizeoutput_163e

The base layer is embossed with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF, which I took the coordinating ink pad and dragged across to ink up the folder before embossing (Perfect Plum or Dapper Denim).

To put the card together, adhere the base layer to the card base, use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the second layer, and then add some coordinating Enamel Shapes.

fullsizeoutput_1635fullsizeoutput_163b

This quick and easy card can be used for different ways to celebrate someone! How would you use this card to celebrate? What colors would you use to create this card?

Party Pandas

Hello and welcome to part 3 of this week’s Sale-A-Bration spotlight on stamp sets! Today I will be featuring the Party Pandas stamp set, some punch art, and the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes. I chose one of the cards from this set because I thought it would go great with the idea I had in my head to make this card, but to also show you that the cards and envelopes are another free product that you can earn with Sale-A-Bration!

To make this card, I chose the Lemon Lime striped card and it’s already cut and scored for you! : ) Now, the rest is easy!

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the panda with the party hat and the panda holding the balloon in Basic Black ink, except for the balloon, which you can either mask the stamp with some tape or wipe off, and then cut out. I used Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the party hat on the panda.

To make the leaf background, I used the Leaf Punch and punched out 10 in Garden Green cardstock and 9 in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. These are assembled and adhered to each to a piece of Vellum cardstock cut ½” wide with Mini Glue Dots. I had one of each color left over, so I adhered those at the bottom in-between the two strips.

The pandas were placed and adhered to make it look like they are hanging or coming out of the leaves.

fullsizeoutput_162e

The sentiment from this set is stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock that is a ½” wide, in Lemon Lime Twist ink and then trimmed and the end is punched with the Triple Banner Punch. This is placed on the panda with the party hat to make it look like he is holding the banner as he is coming out of the leaves.

For some added effect, I used the clear circle and teardrop shapes, from the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes, on the leaves.

fullsizeoutput_162b

The inside of these cards are white and blank, so no need to cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to stamp your sentiment. What do you think of this card? Do you have this stamp set? If so, what have you created?

Please contact me if you have any questions about the products used on this or any other project. I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by!
