Atlantic City OnStage Recap!

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a recap of my trip to OnStage in Atlantic City! Whether it’s once or twice a year, I just love meeting up with my fellow Team Stamp It Demonstrators and having a blast catching up and seeing all the wonderful new products from the new catalog! This OnStage was extra special as our upline and team leader, Tami White, demonstrated her million-dollar stamp set, Capture the Good! There are so many new products and luckily I was able to take pictures of it all to share with you today, so let’s get started!

This stamp set is one that I received from the Prize Patrol! It is actually not available in the Annual Catalog, but is available in a special brochure that Stampin’ Up! with be releasing soon:

This stamp set is one that we all received in our bag at check in! Not only does it coordinate with the Daisy Punch, but there is a new Medium Daisy Punch that will be available in the new Annual Catalog!

This 12” x 12” Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP was also received from Prize Patrol! I cut the pieces down so you can see the front and back of the DSP, but what makes this a Specialty DSP is that one side is embossed (or raised) with a gloss. The coordinating colors for this paper are Blushing Bride, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Mint Macaron, Soft Suede, Terracotta Tile, Whisper White, and Very Vanilla. Here is one piece that I held at an angle to give you a better view:

The new 2019-2021 InColors are: Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray, and Purple Posy. While they are more muted colors, they really are lovely colors that you may appreciate more once you have them in hand. I just received my pre-order and so I did a quick color combo to help you see how they coordinate with our existing colors:

The Come Sail Away Suite is my #1 must have! I was able to order everything from the suite, except the embossing folder. Below is my make and take and pictures of the entire suite:

The Perennial Essence Suite is another must have! Between ordering and snagging products from OnStage, I have this entire suite and can’t wait to show you this beautiful suite! Below is my make and take and pictures of the suite:

The Bird Ballad Suite is another beautiful suite with stunning DSP and adorable coordinating trinkets! I limited myself to two suites and InColors (it was really, really hard lol), but there are items from this suite that are on my list! Below is my make and take and pictures of the suite:

The Follow Your Art suite is so stinking adorable! It even has coordinating washi tape with the Stampin’ Up logo! How cute is that!! There is even an embellishment kit and embossing folder! Below is my make and take and pictures of the suite:

The Noble Peacock Suite is a must on my list! Remember Beautiful Peacock from SAB last year? It’s like that, but so much more! Here are pictures I was able to take and cannot wait to order this suite:

Below are the rest of the products that I was able to take pictures of and the product shares that the presenters from Atlantic City made:

We even got a sneak peek of Paper Pumpkins May 2019 kit, the “Shelli” kit! You can see more about this kit here and you need to be signed up by May 10thto receive this kit. Below is my make and take:

So, lots of exciting new products and good times had by all! I can’t wait to share my creations with you next week from these new products! Bright and cheerful with Country Home

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a bright and cheerful card made with the Country Home stamp set! I will admit this stamp set has been sitting on my shelf neglected since making my Thanksgiving cards. So, when I brought out my pack of Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper and chose at random a piece to make a card with, I thought this would be perfect! Then layer this on a piece of cardstock embossed with the Tin Tile DTIEF, you give the stamp and embossing folder a whole new look!

I first started with this design from the Garden Impressions 6” x 6” DSP, first cutting a 1 ½” strip off one end and then cutting this in half at ¾”. Then turn the DSP so 6” side is at the top and cut at 3”. This will give you two 3” x 4 ½” and two ¾” pieces, which you can make two cards from cutting the DSP this way, and this is my absolute favorite way to cut 6” x 6” DSP:

I cut a piece of Mango Melody cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and embossed it with the Tin Tile DTIEF for the base layer:

For the rest of the card front, you will need enough Braided Linen Trim to tie into a bow and the tin can stamp. This is stamped in Memento ink on a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock and colored in with Stampin’ Blends. I first colored around the edge of the can in Dark Night of Navy and then colored the handles in Light Night of Navy and blended this in with the outline towards the middle of the can. Next, I colored in the middle of the can with Light Mango Melody and then blended Light and Dark Balmy Blue around the edge of the Mango Melody and Night of Navy. Then to give this a lighter and weathered look, I used the brush tip of the Color Lifter over the Mango Melody and Balmy Blue inks. The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White cardstock, fussy cut out, colored with Light Smoky Slate, used the brush tip of the Color Lifter, and then adhered to the can. This is then cut out with the second smallest Stitched Rectangle Framelit. TIP-using Thick Whisper White with multiple Stampin’ Blends helps prevent the colors from bleeding outside the stamp image and also making sure the cardstock dries inbetween coloring, which you can use your Heat Tool to help with this:

Adhere the DSP to the embossed base layer, tie the Braided Linen Trim into a bow around this piece, and then adhere the stamped piece with dimensionals. This completed piece is then adhered to a Night of Navy cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

The inside sentiment is on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” in Night of Navy ink and the ¾” piece of DSP is adhered along the bottom, trimming off the excess:

I love how Night of Navy and Mango Melody really make the colors pop on this card! The Country Home stamp set really has some great sentiments and this is a great way to repurpose a holiday stamp set! So get out those sets and see what you can create with them!!

Soft and subtle with Butterfly Gala and All My Love DSP

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a beautiful soft and subtle card made with the Butterfly Gala Bundle and the All My Love Designer Series Paper! I originally purchased the All My Love DSP for my Valentine’s cards and of course I have a lot of this beautiful DSP leftover, so I decided to combine one of the designs with the Butterfly Gala Bundle to show you a beautiful alternative!

I first started with a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock, embossed with the Tufted DTIEF and this design from the All My Love DSP, cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¾”:

Additionally, for the card front I heat embossed the sentiment from Butterfly Gala stamp set in white embossing powder on Soft Sea Foam cardstock, cutting out with the smallest Layering Oval Framelit, and then I used one of the Stitched Labels Framelit to cut out in Flirty Flamingo cardstock to layer the sentiment on. I heat embossed two small and one large butterfly on Vellum cardstock with white embossing powder and then used the coordinating Butterfly Duet Punch to punch them out:

Adhere the DSP to the embossed cardstock base layer, adhere the layered sentiment piece, and then adhere the butterflies. TIP-I used a small piece of Foam Adhesive Strip to adhere the butterflies:

This piece is then adhered to a 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”, Flirty Flamingo cardstock card base and I added three Pearl Basic Jewels:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4 “x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo ink, stamp the solid stamp for the butterfly wings and body in Soft Sea Foam ink and then stamp the wing outline in Flirty Flamingo ink. I stamped the antennae in both inks, you can choose which one you like to use:

I just love the color combo of Flirty Flamingo and Soft Sea Foam together! This is a beautiful card that you can simple change the sentiment for the card occasion!

Fun baby card with Animal Outing

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun and cute baby card using the eclipse technique! This is a quick and easy card to make and using the Animal Outing stamp set and the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper. If you have the Large Letter Framelits, these work perfectly with this technique!

To start, I used this design from the Animal Expedition DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

To line up the framelits, I first started with the B and the Y on the ends and used my grid paper and a ruler to make sure I lined them across the DSP. I then lined up and spaced the B and the A in the middle. To help keep the dies in place, I used small Post-It Notes:

I then adhered the DSP to a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. TIP-I used liquid glue to allow some “wiggle room” to line up the papers:

To pop the letters up, I used mini dimensionals and here is how I placed them:

After adhering the letters, I tied a piece of Call Me Clover Grosgrain into a bow:

This piece is then adhered to a Call Me Clover cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I added three of the smallest Rhinestone Gems to the ribbon:

The inside sentiment is on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock and the sentiment is stamped in Call Me Clover ink. The kangaroo is stamped in Memento ink, colored in with the Light Crumb Cake and Bronze Stampin Blends, with the koala colored in with the Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends. I used Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends to color the “shadow” under the kangaroo and to color in the koala’s nose:

Fun and easy card, right?? I just love the Animal Outing Suite (page 27 in the AC) and making a baby card is so easy! If you don’t have the Large Letter Framelits, you should definitely consider them! Not only are they perfect for cards, but also for scrapbooking!!

Feel better soon

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super sweet “get well soon” card! No matter if someone is feeling “down and out” or “down for the count”, what better way to perk them up than a bright and colorful card! Speaking of color, do you ever wonder about different color combinations and how to figure them out? Head to Pinterest! That’s how I decided on the colors I used today. I started out with Coastal Cabana and I wanted to use colors that I could also use for the flower from Humming Along, so I chose to use Coastal Cabana, Mango Melody, and Granny Apple Green with Copper Foil for a little bling!

I first started with the flower on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamped in Smoky Slate ink with my Stamparatus:

The flower is colored in with Light and Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends, the stem and leaf and colored with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, and the stamen is colored in with Light Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends:

This is then heat embossed with copper powder and cut out with the coordinating framelit:

The base layer is Mango Melody cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

The next layer is this design in Coastal Cabana from the Brights 6” x 6” DSP, cut at 3” x 5 ¼” and then two strips of Copper Foil, cut at ¾” x 5 ¼”:

First adhere the Copper Foil strips to the back of the Coastal Cabana DSP (use your grid paper to help line them up) and then adhere to the Mango Melody cardstock:

For the rest of the card front, you will need to cut out flower, a piece of Whisper White Tulle Ribbon tied into a bow, and the sentiment from Florentine Filigree stamp set is stamped in Coastal Cabana ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the smaller layering framelit from Lily Framelits Dies, and then cut out a piece of Mango Melody cardstock with the larger layering framelit:

Adhere the flower on the DSP, adhere the bow with a glue dot, and then adhere the layering cardstock pieces together, then adhere to the card front with dimensionals. This is then adhered to a Thick Whisper White cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼”x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

The inside sentiment is from Humming Along in Coastal Cabana ink and adhere a ¾” strip of the DSP along the bottom, trimming off the excess:

What do you think?? Bright, fun, quick, and easy! All the things a card should be! Have you ever been stuck on color combinations? Just choose one color and see what you get, you just may be surprised!

Kindness & Compassion card with Petal Promenade DSP

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a sweet condolence card made with the Kindness & Compassion stamp set and Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. Unfortunately, there comes a time when we may need to make a condolence card and this stamp set is perfect for the occasion. I decided to pair this stamp set with the Petal Promenade DSP because there are two designs that have trimmable elements, which I already have precut, but have not used. So, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity!

To start, I chose this design, trimmed it down to edge of each side, and rounded each corner with the Detailed Trio Punch. The final measurement after trimming is 3 ¼” x 4 ¾”:

I layering this on a piece of Highland Heather cardstock, cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¾”, the corners rounded with the Detailed Trio Punch, and embossed with the Subtle Dynamic TIEF:

For your base layer, use this design from the Petal Promenade DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

The sentiment from Kindness & Compassion is heat embossed in silver emboss powder on the DSP, which is adhered to the embossed cardstock (I used liquid glue to give me room to line up the cardstock pieces), and then I tied a piece of Whisper White Tulle Ribbon around into a bow:

This piece is then adhered to the base layer DSP and then adhered to the Highland Heather card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:

The inside is a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” Whisper White cardstock, the sentiment is stamped in Highland Heather ink and then I used the flower and leaf stamp from Beautiful Promenade in Highland Heather and Mossy Meadow inks:

What do you think?? I really haven’t used any of the trimmable designs, but I think that I’m going to experiment some more with this and see what I can create! Have you ever purchased designer series paper with some idea of how you were going to use it, but then kind of forgot about it? It’s so easy to create cards with the rest of the designs!

Wondering what specials are going on?? Current specials are listed to the right!!

Poppin’ Birthday-Paper Pumpkin Alternative p3

Hello and welcome to today’s cards, which are my last two alternatives for the March 2019 Paper Pumpkin, Poppin’ Birthday! This kit has been so fun and full of alternative possibilities! While I have showed you four alternatives (made two cards of each design), I still have tons of Paper Pumpkin product left to make even more cards. These last two cards will show you one way to use the pop-out insert and to make a #simplestamping birthday card just using the stamps from the kit.

For the card on the right, I first started with a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock for the base layer for the card front. I first stamped the confetti stamp in Daffodil Delight ink:

I used the party hat stamp in Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, and Flirty Flamingo inks. From the confetti die-cut numbers, I used the 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, positioning them diagonally, starting with the 5 in one corner and the 1 in the opposite corner, making it like a “countdown” before the card is opened:

For the inside of the card, I used the present pop-out, stamping the sentiments in Poppy Parade ink and adhering two of the die-cut bows:

The card base is Poppy Parade cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. Instead of using the Tear & Tape provided with the kit, I used liquid glue to adhere the pop-out to the inside of the card (this will give you a little wiggle room for adjustments and lining up):

I adhered the base layer to the front of the card and then I also used the E clear block to press the card down to allow the inside glue to set:

Finally for my last card, this idea was inspired by how to use the stamps after you have already used all the contents from the kit to make all those beautiful cards!

Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” for the base layer. The streamer is stamped in Daffodil Delight ink, the party hat in Flirty Flamingo ink, and the balloons in Bermuda Bay ink, the string is hand drawn in with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker:

This is adhered with dimensionals to a Whisper White cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

The inside sentiment is stamped in Poppy Parade ink and the streamer is stamped in Daffodil Delight ink:

Quick and easy cards to make for some fun birthday wishes! A quick and easy way to make a bunch of birthday cards to have on hand is to cut up some Whisper White cardstock for the base layer and inside sentiment, stamp them in the colors you have on hand, and then cut up coordinating cardstock for the card base! You can make two cards at once by doing this!!

Here’s a little funny bonus card that I made, this popped into my head right after I opened the box and saw the die cut numbers! lol
