Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is all about retiring products and colors from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and the January – April 2023 Mini Catalog! Let me first say that I’m still here, I know I’ve been MIA for the last month! March is always a busy month for me personally, I take care of the spring cleaning for our OBX vacation rental house, but then when you add in that I’m planning a girls trip with my mom that we are taking in the next couple of weeks, an unexpected, but thrilled, last minute visit from my younger son, and all the little unexpected things in life, well, crafting and blogging just didn’t make it into the day, lol! So, this is the perfect opportunity to share with you some important points about what is retiring from both catalogs!
Retiring Colors – the 411
If you are familiar with Stampin’ Up!, you know that about every 3-5 years there is a “color refresh” or “color revamp” and it’s been 5 years since the last color revamp, so this is the year! I know, sometimes change is hard, but look at this way: colors and styles change and those colors you haven’t used in a while? It’s time to let them go and bring in some fresh and popular colors to the line up! There are 11 core colors retiring: Merry Merlot, Blushing Bride, Mango Melody, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, and Sahara Sand. That means we are getting 11 new core colors, 7 are returning In Colors and 4 brand new colors: Fresh Freesia, Lost Lagoon, Blueberry Bushel, Misty Moonlight, Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, Pecan Pie, Bubble Bath, and Lemon Lolly. Don’t forget, the 2021-2023 In Colors, Fresh Freesia (which will be a core color), Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, and Evening Evergreen, are retiring with the 2022-2023 AC and the new 2023-2025 In Colors, Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Boho Blue, Moody Mauve, and Pebbled Path, will be available with the 2023-2024 AC.

I, personally, love this because SU! listened to demonstrators and customers and brought back popular In Colors! While I was not shocked that some colors are retiring, I will be sad to see Merry Merlot, Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Mango Melody, and Sahara Sand go. I am super excited to see Azure Afternoon, Pecan Pie, Bubble Bath, and Lemon Lolly, along with the new In Colors, in person!! I’ve placed my pre-order, which was mainly focused on all these yummy new colors, so I will share those with you next week! I am waiting for the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog to go live on May 2nd to place my products order, there’s still creativity to be made with the annual and mini catalogs!
Retiring Products – the 411
As a demonstrator, one of the first things I do after looking thru the new annual catalog is look to see what is carrying over, specifically stamp sets, bundles, punches, dies, and embossing folders. There are stamp sets and bundles that are kind of a given, in that they’ve been in the AC for a couple of years (Nothings Better Than, Forever Fern, Painted Poppies, and Peaceful Moments for example), but I’m going to miss Lighthouse Point and Paradise Palms for sure! However, there are some fun new stamp sets, a bundle, and a suite that made my list and can’t wait to order those next month! I am super sad that the Stamparatus is going away (due to legal reasons), but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop using it! I absolutely love the Stamparatus, so don’t be surprised if you see it from time to time or even referenced in my supply list!
The last chance product list went live yesterday, so these will only be while supplies last! While these products are indicated on the online store as “retiring soon”, I have included a PDF version for you, if that works better! If you cannot find something in the online store, than more than likely it is gone for good!
Final Thoughts
I hope you are excited as I am for not only the new products, but for the color revamp! I also forgot to add, that if you organize colors by family (Regals, Neutrals, Brights, and Subtles), some colors have moved! Gorgeous Grape will be a Regal, Blackberry Bliss a Neutral, and Pumpkin Pie a Bright, this will take some getting use to, lol! I’m very interested to see which of the new core colors and new In Colors will be my favorite because what I think I will like, doesn’t always happen!! The best advise, I feel, that I can pass along with the new colors, whether you are unsure or limited by space or funds, is this: buy the cardstock and markers! When SU! does a revamp like this, they offer just the new colors in the cardstock, markers, and ink pads in bundles with just those new colors, but this will only be available during this 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. I, personally, have 7 of the 11 colors in the markers, and will see how things go as to whether I need to buy another bundle of markers with so many repeats since my markers are still in good condition. I also try to remember to suggest this when the new In Colors come out because I get it, I used to only buy the markers before becoming a demonstrator. I feel that if you at least have the markers and cardstock, this will give you the opportunity to see what you like and decide if you want to order the stamp pad and ink refill.
I hope you enjoy today’s blog post and I would love to hear your thoughts about the color revamp and/or retiring products! I will be back on Friday with a card that I made with SAB and AC products!! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
