Clean and simple Sea Turtle card

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a super quick and easy card featuring the Sea Turtle stamp set! Every now and again it’s nice to make a simple card, not a lot of die-cutting, stamping, embossing, etc. Since I finished my Valentine’s Day cards the other day, I decided I was going to do a “clean and simple” card to finish off the week. I love the Parakeet Party and Starry Sky color combination, so I thought this would be perfect with the Sea Turtle stamp set! Now, I did do a little embossing; heat embossing with clear embossing powder on the turtle and dry embossing cardstock, which I think makes what would be a “plain card” to a “wow card”!

For the card front, the base layer is Starry Sky cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 4 ¼” and embossed with the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder. You will then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 3 ½” x 4”, use your Stamparatus to first stamp the turtle in Parakeet Party ink, stamp the detailed side in Starry Sky ink, clean the stamp and stamp again in Versamark ink, and then heat emboss with clear embossing powder. I used one of each color in Starry Sky and Parakeet Party from the 2022-2024 Matte Decorative Dots (they are gradient):

To assemble, adhere the above to layers together and then use dimensionals to adhere this to the front of a Thick Basic White cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Friends are Like Seashells in Starry Sky ink and in the corner, use the small turtle to stamp in Parakeet Party and Starry Sky inks:

For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, I used the small turtle to stamp in the corner in Parakeet Party and Starry Sky inks:

How quick was this card to make? Not only is this a great “any occasion” card, but it can also be used for a masculine themed card, birthdays or Father’s Day! When I played with this set last week, I wasn’t kidding about how much I love the clear embossing effect with the turtle shell, it really makes the turtle image pop!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
