Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is fun and easy Joy Fold card featuring the Christmas Season and Christmas to Remember stamp sets, Seasonal Labels and Christmas Pinecone Dies, and the Painted Christmas 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper! When stamp sets, dies, and DSP carry over from one year to the next, that makes things a little easier for me because if I have any leftover DSP, this can be used from one year into the next! But what that means is, I want to use up the DSP and the Joy Fold card is perfect for this! This fun fold was my “go to” for Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean I can’t show you how use it again for Christmas cards! Another item that carried over was the Gold Holly Leaves, which I did not use A SINGLE ONE last year….I think I forgot about them, to be honest. Not this year, they will be used up!! I also purchased the Flat Jingle Bell Trinkets this year, which I love! These cute little embellishments are perfect for mailing, no need to go to the Post Office to pay for extra postage to have them hand cancelled (so they do not go thru a sorting machine).
The card base is Evening Evergreen cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 8 ¼” and scored at 5 ½”, and the second card base is Cherry Cobbler cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 7 ½” and scored at 3 ¾”:
I used these two different designs from the Painted Christmas DSP, the top design is cut at 4” x 5 ¼” and the bottom design is first cut at 4” x 6” and then cut down into 4” x 2 ½”, 3 ½” x 3 ½”, and ½” x 3 ½”:
For the card front of the smaller card base, you will need:
1. Use both smaller pinecone dies from Christmas Pinecone Dies to die-cut the pinecone outline in Early Espresso cardstock and the detailed die in Crumb Cake cardstock, which are adhered together as shown.
2. Two of the Gold Holly Leaves.
3. Use the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon to tie into a bow, cut about 4 – 5” of Linen Thread to tie two of the Flat Jingle Bell Trinkets to the thread at one end, slightly loosen the back of the ribbon bow to thread the other end through the hole, tighten the bow, pull the Linen Thread so the jingle bells are hanging at the length you like, and tie the thread into a knot, trimming off the excess.
4. Stamp the sentiment from Christmas to Remember in Evening Evergreen ink on Basic White cardstock and use the small sentiment die from Seasonal Labels Dies to die-cut out.
5. Use the medium sentiment die from Seasonal Labels Dies to die-cut from Evening Evergreen cardstock, this will be layered under the above die-cut sentiment.
To assemble the above, adhere the layered die-cut sentiment pieces, liquid glue to adhere the die-cut pinecones to the die-cut sentiment piece, adhesive to adhere the two Gold Holly Leaves in-between the die-cut sentiment pieces, and glue dots to adhere the bow as shown:
To fully assemble the card, first burnish the folds for both card bases, adhere the 4” x 5 ¼” DSP to the inside of the Evening Evergreen cardstock and the 4” x 2 ½” DSP to the outside fold, adhere the 3 ½” x 3 ½” DSP to the front of the Cherry Cobbler cardstock, and use liquid glue to adhere this centered to the inside of the Evening Evergreen cardstock, making sure the Cherry Cobbler cardstock fold opens to the right. Use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment piece to the middle of the Cherry Cobbler cardstock fold:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 3 ½” x 3 ½”, stamp the sentiment from Christmas to Remember in Evening Evergreen ink and adhere the ½” x 3 ½” strip of DSP along the bottom:
For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, the leaf stamp is inked in Evening Evergreen ink, stamped off once and then stamped on the envelope, the stem is stamped in Evening Evergreen ink, and the berries are stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink:
Since I used the left-over strips of Evening Evergreen cardstock for the sentiment layer, I was only able to get four of those. However, the last two I used the Cherry Cobbler cardstock, and this is how it looks as an alternative:
Six cards down and *almost* two sheets of DSP used, you will have a 1 ½” x 12” strip of DSP leftover, but that can easily be used for other cards! For me, I like to “mass produce” Christmas cards, but that does not mean they have to be plain or so intricate that they take quite a bit of time to make only a single card. The hardest part about this card was getting the hanging jingle bells just right in the ribbon, but once I figured the way that I liked, it was pretty easy after that!

Just letting you know how much I enjoy receiving all your different card ideas that you email out.
I have just completed the above, Holly Jolly Christmas, but using Birthday Bonanza DSP, for my great nephew’s forthcoming birthday.
I discovered that the DSP on the Evening Evergreen fitted more evenly if the card was scored at 5 1/2”. Just a little hiccup but it is such an effective card and a pattern that I will use often.
