Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a clean and simple card featuring the Trees for Sale stamp set and Tree Lot Dies! So, let me ask you this: are you mostly a “traditional” color (reds and greens) for your cards and crafts or it doesn’t matter, just a variety of colors? I normally go with whatever designer series paper I’m using, but I this time wanted to go completely out of my norm. It all started with the Rose Gold Specialty Paper and the Snowy White Velvet Sheets that I wanted to use for the trees from the Tree Lot Dies, then deciding what colors I could use with the Rose Gold. I pulled out my Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon to see if I liked it with the Rose Gold Specialty Paper and thought, “Eh, why not?” My first prototype used Basic White cardstock for the card front base layer, but then I thought I should’ve used Shimmery White cardstock, so I made a second card with the Shimmery White! These are Christmas cards after all, you can never have too much shimmer or sparkle! There is a side by side of both cards at the end showing you what using Shimmery and Basic White cardstocks look like for the base layer.
The base layer for the card front is Shimmery White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I cut a 4” x 4” piece of masking paper and used the largest Layering Circle Die to create a mask with masking paper, then use a blending brush with Polished Pink ink to color in the circle. The base layer is then embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and I used a Mint Macaron Stampin’ Write Marker to “flick” the brush tip end with the lid to create the splatter effect:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Using the Iridescent Rose Gold paper, use the outline tree dies to die-cut one of each out.
2. Using Snowy White Velvet Sheet, use the detailed tree dies to die-cut one of each out, I placed adhesive sheet on the back of the velvet sheet before die-cutting. These will be adhered to the above outline die-cuts.
3. Make a double bow from the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon.
4. You will need one of each size Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels, not pictured.
I used glue dots to first adhere the ribbon to the base layer, liquid glue to adhere the largest tree die-cut to the base layer, dimensionals to adhere the two additional tree die-cuts, place the Iridescent Rhinestones on the tree tops (large on large, medium on medium, and small on small), and adhere the base layer to a Thick Basic White cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Christmas to Remember in Mint Macaron ink and I used the leftover negative Rose Gold Paper, which I flipped over to the back side, to color in the small tree with a blending brush and Polished Pink ink, stamping the detailed stamp in Polished Pink ink in the bottom corner:
For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, I repeated the process for the tree from the inside of the card in the bottom corner:

Such a quick and easy card! What I love about this layout is that you can use any color combination and any dies or punch for any type of card. As for Christmas cards, if you are looking to quickly make these, you can cut the foil paper and velvet sheets to the size you need for the three dies each, which saves you wasting the papers and you can die-cut for each card at one time, saving you time. You can also change the color combinations so you have several cards in different colors!
