Christmas in July Blog Hop – July 2022

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Christmas in July Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner. Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour, or you have hopped on over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my card creation with you today!

I will admit it took me a while to whittle my list down and decide what products I wanted to purchase this year for my Christmas cards! I was initially on the fence about the super cute Tree Lot Dies from the SAB catalog, but who can pass up FREE dies?? So, even if you think you have enough products for your Christmas cards this year (Do you? Does anyone ever really have enough, especially for Christmas?? Lol), I wanted to inspire you with a fun Christmas card that you can create with the Tree Lot Dies!

The base layer for the card front is this design from the Texture Chic DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I also cut a ¾” x 4” strip for the inside of the card:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. From Basic Black cardstock, use the pole and string of lights dies to die-cut two of each. On the string of lights die-cuts, I used the Real Red and white Pearlized Enamel Effects, alternating each bottle, to squeeze a drop sized dot to create the “lights”. Tip-the enamel effects take about 30-45 minutes to completely dry, you can do this step first and set aside to dry while you do everything else.

2. The camper is die-cut out of Basic White cardstock, keep the two window die-cuts and coloring those with a Light So Saffron Stampin’ Blends, the tire and trailer hitch with a Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends, and the tire rim with a Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.

3. The detail camper layers are die-cut out of brushed Silver Foil Specialty Sheet.

4. The window curtain and bow are die-cut out of Real Red cardstock.

5. From Soft Succulent cardstock, die-cut out one of each size tree outline and the wreath.

6. From Evening Evergreen cardstock, die-cut out one of each size tree outline.

7. Place some adhesive sheet on the back of a piece of Snowy White Velvet Sheet and use all three detailed tree accent dies to die-cut out two of each, for a total of six. Note-when using adhesive sheet, sometimes the detailed die-cut pieces don’t easily come out, so I leave those and when I peel the adhesive backing off, all those little pieces will pop out.

To assemble the die-cuts, I removed the adhesive backing from the velvet die-cuts to adhere to the die-cut cardstock trees, used liquid glue to adhere the die-cuts to the camper as shown, and adhered the string of lights to the poles as shown:

To assemble the card front, adhere the die-cut trees to the DSP base layer as shown, use dimensionals to adhere the camper to the DSP base layer, and liquid glue to adhere the die-cut poles. This completed piece is adhered to a Soft Succulent cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside of the card, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, adhere the ¾” x 4” strip along the side, and first ink the sentiment stamp in Soft Succulent ink, use a Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker to color the middle of the sentiment and then stamp on the cardstock:

For the coordinating Basic White Medium Envelope, I used the small two-step pinecone stamp from Christmas Season to stamp in the corner in Early Espresso and Crumb Cake inks:

I just love the Tree Lot Dies!! Honestly, you really don’t need the coordinating Trees For Sale stamp set from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, but the stamp set is super cute! Besides, the dies are FREE during SAB with a qualifying $100 (USD) product purchase!!
