Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Mother’s Day Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner. Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour, or you have hopped on over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my card creation with you today!
What is Mother’s Day to you? For me, it is a way to celebrate all the mothers in my life, not just my beautiful mother and mother-in-law. Whether it’s family or friends, I can celebrate them with a pretty card and a few kind words. For my card that I’m sharing with you today, I’m pairing products from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog and the 2022 January-June Mini Catalog that is not only easy to make but is sure to put a smile on your recipient’s face!
The base layer for the card front is a piece of Basic White cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, which is spritzed with water before embossing with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. Use the detailed poppy and poppy bud die to die-cut from Poppy Parade cardstock. Tip-I placed some adhesive sheet behind the cardstock for the detailed poppy die.
2. Use the outline poppy die to die-cut from the Ombre Poppy Parade sheet from the Ombre Specialty Paper.
3. The pistil for the poppy flower is die-cut out of Basic Black cardstock.
4. The two leaves and bud leaf are die-cut from Garden Green cardstock.
5. One Bumblebee trinket.
6. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 1 ¼” x 4” and use your Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment in Versamark ink and heat set with Black Embossing Powder.
7. Cut a piece of the brass Brushed Metallic cardstock at 1 ½” x 4”, which will be layered under the above sentiment.

I first adhered the layered embossed sentiment strip towards the bottom of the embossed base layer, used adhesive to adhere the die-cut leaves to the sentiment strip, use dimensionals to adhere the die-cut poppy over the leaves, a glue dot to adhere the die-cut poppy bud (tucking the stem behind the leaves), and a glue dot to adhere the Bumblebee trinket as shown. This completed piece is adhered to a Thick Basic White cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”, using an Adhesive Foam Sheet that I cut into 1” squares placing one in each corner and two in the middle:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Poppy Parade ink and the poppy image in Memento ink, coloring in with Poppy Parade and Garden Green inks using a blender pen:

For the coordinating Basic White envelope, I stamped and colored the same poppy image as the inside of the card:

Is this a “clean and simple” card? Maybe…but it’s clean and simple for me! That is what I had intended to make when I first started, but then I added the trinket and the brushed metallic cardstock! However, I do love how this card turned out and it gave a new twist to the Painted Poppies stamp sets and coordinating dies!
