The new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, In Colors, and products!

Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is all about the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, new In Colors, and some new products from the catalog! I don’t know about you, but when I first see the new annual catalog, whether it’s online or in my hands, the first thing I do as I am perusing is look at what is carrying over! That is just the organizer/demonstrator in me, it not only helps me get organized for when the retiring annual catalog comes to an end, but I also get to see what products from the Jan-June Mini Catalog are carrying over! While I am happy to see some of my favorites carrying over, it’s also bittersweet to say good-bye to those that are not. Once that is over, I then begin the journey of making my wish list for new products from the annual catalog and a journey it is! Let’s just say that I couldn’t begin to count how many times I looked over each page online and after I received my own copy, I always seem to miss something! Lol However, when it came to my pre-order, I only ordered a few products from my list and of course the number one item was the new In Colors! It’s one thing to see them online or even in the catalog, but in your hands, up close, and personal? That’s what I couldn’t wait for!

The new 2022-2024 In Colors!

This year, Stampin’ Up! introduced five bright and bold new In Colors, which I was super excited to see! Right off the bat, Tahitian Tide was going to be my favorite without a doubt, then Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet, Starry Sky, and Orchid Oasis. I wasn’t too sure about what Starry Sky would really look like and for Orchid Oasis, purple is not my “go to” color. So, imagine my surprise after doing a little stamping and color comparison how much I really like Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis! I did some color comparison on Basic White and Very Vanilla cardstock and then I did another comparison with our current colors, including Misty Moonlight that will be retiring, just to see how they compare. For me when stamping the ink colors, Sweet Sorbet is a shade of Poppy Parade and Real Red and Parakeet Party is a shade of Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow, while Tahitian Tide, Orchid Oasis, and Starry Sky are stand alone colors. I was truly surprised to see how much I liked Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky and how much potential they really have! I also did some cardstock comparison, just because I may like the ink color doesn’t mean I like the cardstock! Take Grapefruit Grove for example, I loved everything about Grapefruit Grove except the cardstock, it was my “kryptonite” and I just found it very hard to use. So, the best “food for thought” I can give is this: order the ink and a couple cardstock packs, play and experiment with them, and you will see what colors “speak” to you, this way you will have several sheets of each color and if space/budget are an issue, order the Stampin’ Write Markers, which is committing without the commitment, lol! Don’t forget the ink refills! Whether it’s ink pads or markers, you need the ink refills! I did order the 6” x 6” DSP, which you get 40 sheets, because I’m on the fence with a couple of the DSP’s right at the moment, but I do like the different designs of the new paper assortments.

Stamps, Dies, and a Punch!

Now on to the fun stuff!

The Sending Smiles Bundle was on my “consider list”, but I figured why not? This is a great sentiment stamp set with coordinating dies, you can keep it very simple and just stamp or take it a step up (or two) with the coordinating dies. What drew me to this bundle is that you can stamp or die-cut the “Sending”, all the sentiments fit in the two framelit dies, and with a little masking, you can create your own sentiment! This is a photopolymer stamp set with 14 coordinating dies.

The Stylish Shapes Dies were a must for me because who doesn’t need sentiment dies? Since the Tasteful Labels and Stitched So Sweetly Dies are retiring, I was excited to see these dies! Can we say SQUARE DIES?!? They are stitched dies, which I love that added detail, and they are layering! There are 15 dies, six layering circle, five layering square, and four banner type dies.

The Bottled Happiness Bundle-a stamp set with a coordinating punch! This is a great two-step photopolymer stamp set with cute sentiments AND there are coordinating Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes! While I did not order those this time, they are sure to be on my next order! Another stamp set that you can keep simple with just ink and paper or take them a step up with the coordinating punch and shaker domes!

That is all for my “share and tell” for now! I am super excited about the new 2022-2024 In Colors, and I hope you are too! Of course, once the new annual catalog goes live on May 3rd, 2022, I will be able to order more new products to share new and exciting ideas! Since I have the new goodies from my pre-order out, I will share with you sneak-peek ideas with the Bottled Happiness and Sending Smiles Bundles this week!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
