Spring Fling Blog Hop – February 2022

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s New Year’s Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller, and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner. Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour, or you have hopped on over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my card creation with you today!

Today I will be sharing with you a quick and easy “any occasion” card featuring the Daffodil Daydream Bundle with the coordinating Daffodil Afternoon Designer Series Paper! Not only is this a fun way to use up your designer series paper and add fun accents, but a very easy way to use your Stampin’ Blends for color coordination!

The base layer for the card front is this design from the Daffodil Afternoon DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. This design from the Daffodil Afternoon DSP, cut at 4” x 2 ¾”.

2. On a piece of Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the single daffodil image in Mossy Meadow ink, use a Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends to color in the leaves, a Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends to color in the flower stem, a Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends to “dot” color around the tip of the corona (cup) and Light Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends to color the corona (cup), and a Wink of Stella Pen to color the tepals. This is die-cut out with the coordinating die.

3. Use the small butterfly die to die-cut from Pale Papaya cardstock and the large butterfly to die-cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, which is colored with a Light Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends. These will be layered together.

4. Three of the large Brushed Brass Butterflies.

To assemble the card front, adhere the 4” x 2 ¾” DSP to the center of the 4” x 5 ¼” DSP base layer, adhere the die-cut daffodil to the center of the 4” x 2 ¾” DSP, place the Brushed Brass Butterflies as shown, and use a glue dot to adhere the die-cut butterfly layers, with a mini dimensional to adhere to the DSP as shown. This completed piece is adhered to a Pale Papaya cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of DSP (same design as the card front base layer) along the bottom of the Very Vanilla cardstock, and I used the sentiment from Inspired Thoughts stamp set to make this a “thank you” card:

For the coordinating envelope, use the butterfly stamp from Daffodil Daydream to stamp two times in Pale Papaya ink:

A very easy card to make and color coordinate with the designer series paper! This beautiful spring themed card can also be used to get a head start on your Easter or Mother’s Day cards with the sentiment from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set! Don’t forget, you only have until Monday, February 28th, to earn this fabulous designer series paper for FREE during Sale-A-Bration!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
