Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which features the new Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends and the In the Moment stamp set! I am so excited about these new blends, which are a part of the All Together Collection that is available now for demonstrator’s and February 1st for customers! Not only are these perfect for skin and hair colors, but I see so much more! I never really realized how much we needed these new colors until I sat down and just played with them. I will admit that I am not the best at coloring with blends and even shy away from them, but that’s just me because I just haven’t gotten comfortable using them. However, after sitting down and not really “trying” or overthinking, I really enjoyed using all of the blends for these three cards!
Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends
The new colors of these blends are not a part of the Stampin’ Up! color collections, however, they still come in combo packs, or you can purchase the whole 10 color collection: Light, Medium Light, Medium, Medium Deep, and Deep. I cut up some Basic White cardstock to show you each color, the spectrum of the colors, and comparison to other Stampin’ Blends that I thought might be close. As you can see, the new Natural Tones are completely different from our current color collections:
To experiment, I stamped the three different images from In the Moment on Basic White cardstock and then just started coloring! Then I brought out some much loved and missed Layering Oval, Layering Square, and Stitched Shapes Dies, which are retired.
For the first card, I used SU800 and SU900 for the skin tone, SU300 and SU500 for the coffee cup, SU1000, SU600, and SU400 for the puppy, and SU600 and SU400 for the hair. The rest of the colors I used are Light and Dark Misty Moonlight, Light and Dark Balmy Blue, Light and Dark Mint Macaron, Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam, Light Just Jade, Dark Pool Party, Light Smoky Slate, and Ivory Stampin’ Blends. This is then die-cut out with the largest circle Stitched Shapes Die:
I used the fourth from the largest Layering Circles Dies to die-cut from Soft Sea Foam and Mint Macaron cardstock to layer under the stitched shape circle, along with White Frayed Ribbon, and three of the vanilla Polished Dots. The base layer is from the In Good Taste DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and the card base is Gray Granite cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”. For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is inked in Gray Granite ink and Mint Macaron Marker, with a ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the bottom:
For the second card, I used SU700 and SU800 for the skin tone, SU700 and SU400 for the hair, SU300 and SU500 for the pants, SU200 for the windowpane, and SU900, SU200, and Light Smokey Slate for the seat. The rest of the colors I used are Light and Dark Misty Moonlight, Light and Dark Balmy Blue, Light and Dark Poppy Parade, Light Gray Granite, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Pumpkin Pie and Light Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends. This is die-cut out with the largest square Stitched Shapes Die:
I used the largest Layering Squares Dies to die-cut from Calypso Coral cardstock to layer underneath, White Frayed Ribbon, and three of the Calypso Coral Polished Dots. The base layer is In Good Taste DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and the card base is Gray Granite cardstock, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Gray Granite ink, and adhere the ¾” x 4” strip of DSP along the left side:
For the third card, I used SU200 for the skin tone, SU100 and SU400 for the hair, SU800 and SU400 for the hat. The rest of the colors I used are Light and Dark Gray Granite, Light and Dark Magenta Madness, Light and Dark Balmy Blue, and Light Calypso Coral. This is die-cut out with the largest oval Stitched Shapes Die:
I used the largest Layering Oval Dies to die-cut from Magenta Madness cardstock to layer underneath, White Frayed Ribbon, and three of the vanilla Polished Dots. The base layer is In Good Taste DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and the card base is Gray Granite cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”. For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, the sentiment is inked in Gray Granite and Magenta Madness inks, and a ¾” x 4” strip of DSP is adhered along the bottom:
For the coordinating envelopes, I used the grass and two butterfly stamps from Beautiful Moments to stamp in Gray Granite ink:
Can you see just how versatile the new Natural Tone Stampin’ Blends are?? These colors are really on point and a welcome addition, in my opinion at least! I don’t know if you are like me and have hoped for more neutral colors, but if you are, I definitely recommend them!
