Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a soft and elegant card featuring the Daisy Garden stamp set, Through it Together stamp set, and the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper! When I first started with choosing the colors for the Daisy Garden Stamp set, I googled images of daisies to give me some inspiration for what colors I wanted to use. When I finally decided I wanted to use the Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to show you the difference between Pale Papaya and Petal Pink. On paper the look similar in color to me, however, they are slightly different when you color with them, Petal Pink is more of a pink hue and Pale Papaya is more of an orange hue, but the coordinate with each other beautifully! Then when I layered the cardstock on top of a black and white design from the Pattern Party DSP, I feel like the color really pop!
The base layer is this design from the Pattern Party DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:
For the card front, you will need:
1. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” and use your Stamparatus to stamp the Daisy Garden stamp horizontally on the cardstock in Smoky Slate ink. I used Light and Dark Petal Pink, Light and Dark Pale Papaya, Light and Dark So Saffron, Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam to color in the flowers, stems, and leaves. I then trimmed the right and left side of the cardstock down to the edge of the farthest image sticking out and then used the corner rounder from the Detailed Trio Punch on each of the corners.
2. Cut a ½” x 2” piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp the sentiment from Through it Together in Smoky Slate ink, and use the rounded side of the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.
3. Cut at ¾” x 2 ½” piece of Gold Foil and use the rounded side of the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, the above sentiment will be layered on this.
4. You will need three of the Bumblebee Trinkets.
To assemble the card front, first adhered the stamped and colored Basic White cardstock in the middle of the DSP base layer, adhere the layered sentiment piece with dimensionals, and use glue dots to adhere the Bumblebee Trinkets as shown. This completed piece is adhered to a Pale Papaya cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Through it Together in Smoky Slate ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of the DSP along the side as shown:
Isn’t this a great card that all you need to add is a sentiment? While I’m still working on coloring with Stampin’ Blends, choosing just a couple of colors makes the work so much easier! I almost used ribbon for the card front, but I felt that may be too much, and instead opted for the Bumblebee Trinkets.
