Mother’s Day Blog Hop – April 2021

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Mother’s Day Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner. Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour or you have hopped on over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my card creation with you today!

When I first saw the Welcoming Window Bundle, I knew that was it for my Mother’s Day cards! I just saw so many possibilities with the Welcoming Window stamp set and coordinating Window Flower Box Dies, even outside of Mother’s Day cards. I just love that a few of the dies cut & emboss, which give your cards and crafts some added depth and texture!

The base layer is Rococo Rose cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Absolutely Argyle 3D Embossing Folder:

The next layer is Very Vanilla cardstock, cut at 3 ½” x 4 ¾”, and is stamped along the bottom with the smaller leaf and flowers (2a & 2b) in Mint Macaron and Rococo Rose inks:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. From Very Vanilla cardstock, lightly spritz with water and use the window casing and shutter dies to die-cut out.

2. Use the larger leaf and flower stamps (1a & 1b) in Mint Macaron and Rococo Rose inks, stamp the medium flower pot in Gray Granit ink to stamp on Very Vanilla cardstock. These are die-cut out with the coordinating dies.

3. Lightly spritz water on Crumb Cake cardstock and use the embossing window box die to die-cut out.

4. Place some adhesive sheet on the back of a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and use the hinge die to die-cut out.

How I applied the hinge die-cuts is I started with the shorter side of one of the shutters, removed the adhesive backing, and place where I thought they should be. I then took the other shutter, lined up the shorter sides, removed the adhesive backing from each hinge, and lined up with the other hinge:

I used liquid glue to adhere the window box centered and a little bit above the stamped “flower bushes”, the window casing above the window box, and each shutter on the side:

The die-cut flowers and pot are adhered above the window box with mini dimensionals and this is then adhered to the embossed base layer cardstock as shown:

This completed piece is adhered to a Rococo Rose cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ½”, stamp the sentiment in Gray Granite ink and the same stamps for the card front flower pot in Rococo Rose, Mint Macaron, and Gray Granite inks as shown:

This card was so quick and easy to make! You can easily use your favorite springtime colors, I chose to use Rococo Rose as one last nod before it retires! I just love the new 2021-2023 In Colors, which would also work perfectly for this card! That just gave me a great idea! I’m going to make another couple of Mother’s Day cards with this bundle next week, so I just might use In Colors for them! Be sure to check back and see what they are!!
