Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Spring Fling Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner. Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour or you have hopped on over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my card creation with you today!
I don’t know about you, but I am ready for Spring! Absolutely. Ready. But then again, it is my favorite season! Lol! Since this blog hop is Spring themed, I thought the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick Bundles would be perfect and also a play on words with one of the sentiments from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set!
The base layer from the Oh So Ombre 6” x 6” DSP, in Granny Apple Green, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” (horizontal). I used my Stamparatus to stamp the All Wired Up background stamp in Early Espresso ink:

For the card front, you will need:
1. Using the wired die from the Chick Dies, place some adhesive sheet on the back of a piece of Brass Foil Sheets and die-cut two pieces.
2. Using the fence die from the Birthday Chick Dies, place some adhesive sheet on the back of a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and die-cut three pieces.
3. Using the corn stalk die from the Chick Dies, place some adhesive on the back of a piece of Garden Green cardstock and die-cut out.
4. Using the four corn dies from the Chick Dies and chick die from the Birthday Chick dies, place some adhesive on the back of a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock to die-cut out the corn and one chick and use a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock that does not have adhesive on the back to cut out one more chick, you will flip this over and use the backside so the chicks will be facing towards each other. I used the brush tip end of my Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends to color both chick’s feet.
5. Using the four husk dies from the Chick Dies, place some adhesive sheet on the back of a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock and die-cut out.
6. On a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock, stamp the chicken shown from Hey Birthday Chick stamp set in Memento ink and color in with the Dark Poppy Parade, Dark Pumpkin Pie, and Light and Dark Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends. This is die-cut out with the coordinating die.
7. Using the sign die from the Chick Dies, die-cut out from a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and then use the sentiment from Hey Chick to stamp on the sign in Early Espresso ink.
Tip-if you spritz your cardstock with water prior to using the embossing dies, the embossed image really stands out on your die-cuts!

Removing the adhesive sheet back from the cardstock, assemble the corn stalk and place on the stamped base layer as shown. Adhere the die-cut chicken to the middle of the stamped base layer and use mini dimensionals to “place” the sign in the chicken’s wing as shown:

Remove the adhesive backing from the Brass Foil wire die-cuts and place along the bottom of the stamped DSP base layer, trimming off the excess, remove the adhesive backing from the picket fence die-cuts and place over the foil wire die-cuts, trimming off the excess, remove the adhesive backing from the once chick die-cut and place on the picket fence as shown, and use a glue dot to adhere the other die-cut chick (facing the opposite direction) on the picket fence as shown:

This completed piece is adhered to a Crumb Cake cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼” (horizontal), stamp the two sentiments and chick stamp from Hey Birthday Chick in Early Espresso ink as shown, color the chick and feet in Light Daffodil Delight and Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends, color the party hat in Light Poppy Parade, Light Granny Apple Green, and Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends. I used the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends to color a shadow under the chick and Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends along the bottom of the egg, using the Color Lifter to lighten a bit:

Isn’t this a super cute and fun card?? I just love both of these bundles, there are so many possibilities for your cards and crafts when combined together!
