Hello and welcome to today’s blog post, which is a quick and easy card featuring products from the Snowflake Splendor Suite! The hardest thing for me is deciding what theme I want for my Christmas cards when the holiday catalog (aka August-December Mini Catalog) comes out! Just like the title of this post, I really am a sucker for snowflakes! Trust me, I’m not a “snow person”, I really only like snow during the winter about once or twice, for a day or two each time. However, when it comes to my Christmas cards and crafts, I can’t get enough of snowflakes, go figure! So while my list may have been long, it definitely helped that this suite would coordinate with the winter and Christmas themed stamps and dies I already had on hand. So, you will get snowflake overload!! Lol
The base layer for this card is Misty Moonlight cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder, and spritzed with a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with rubbing alcohol and 3-4 drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint:
For the card front, you will need:
1. A ¾” x 4” strip of DSP, this is actually the leftover strip from the card from Monday’s post.
2. A 1” x 4 ¼” strip of Silver Foil Sheet, this will be layered under the DSP strip above.
3. Stamp the sentiment from Snowflake Wishes in Misty Moonlight ink on Whisper White cardstock and die-cut out with the smallest layering Stitched Rectangles Dies.
4. Use the largest outline die from the So Many Snowflakes Dies to die-cut out of Night of Navy cardstock.
5. Stamp the snowflake from Snowflake Wishes in Pacific Point ink on Whisper White cardstock and die-cut out with the coordinating die.
6. Use the second largest detailed So Many Snowflakes Die to die-cut out of Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper.
Adhere the DSP and Silver Foil strips together, the snowflakes are layered with Night of Navy cardstock on the bottom, stamped Pacific Point in the middle, and the detailed Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper on top, using the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere together. The layered snowflake is adhered to the middle of the DSP/Silver Foil with a dimensional:
I first adhered the embossed base layer cardstock to a Thick Whisper White cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11” and scored at 5 ½”, adhered the layered snowflake strip to the base layer, and used two dimensionals to adhere the middle and right end of the sentiment to the base layer and over the layered snowflake strip as shown:
For the inside, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamping the sentiment from Snowflake Wishes in Misty Moonlight ink and two of the small snowflake stamps in Pacific Point (stamping off first and then second, third, and fourth generation stamping) and Balmy Blue (first and second generation stamping) inks:
Did you catch on what I did with this card? I usually cut a 12” x 12” sheet of DSP down and use the ¾” x 4” strips on the inside, however, I did not do this for Monday’s card. So, I decided to show you a quick and easy way to make more cards using the full 1 ½” x 4” strip, which you can choose which side of the DSP you want to use. If you have never spritzed the rubbing alcohol and shimmer paint on your cardstock, you want to use a sweeping motion as you spritz as it comes out quickly and can saturate the cardstock easily, which you can use your heat tool to help the cardstock dry and flatten out.
