Awesome at any age!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a quick and easy birthday card that is sure to put a smile on someone’s face! Have you ever combined both sides of designer series paper for your card front? Today’s card is a simple way to do that by using only one piece of designer series paper, dies, and cardstock. If you haven’t checked out the Forever Gold Laser-cut specialty paper, you really should! There are several different ways for you to use this paper and add some “wow” to your cards effortlessly!

The base layer is this design from the Forever Greenery DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I used the second largest Layering Square Die to cut out of the middle of the DSP, the backside of the square will be used for the card front:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. The cut-out square of DSP.

2. Use the largest Layering Square Die to cut out a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock, this will be layered under the square DSP piece.

3. Stamp the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the single square die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

4. This piece from the Forever Gold Laser-cut specialty paper.

I adhered the layered square pieces, the sentiment to the gold laser-cut paper, and then adhered that to the middle of the layered squares:

I adhered the DSP base layer to a Blackberry Bliss cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”. I placed dimensionals in the square opening and then placed the layered sentiment piece on top:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of the same DSP along the side as shown:

That really is card making in a snap! I used very few supplies and only a little bit of stamping to create this beautiful birthday card! For me personally, I sometimes get in the mind set of using only cardstock that coordinates with the colors of the DSP, but as you can see, I used Blackberry Bliss to make these colors really stand out and give it more of a “feminine” touch!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
