Designer Series Paper Spotlight: In Good Taste

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a beautiful anniversary card, but can also be a wedding card, featuring the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and the Forever Fern Bundle! I just can’t tell you how much I love this new DSP from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog! Of course, I love when new bundles and suites have coordinating DSP, but I also like to see if I can “get more” out of DSP by coordinating with other bundles and suites, especially those that have carried over into the new annual catalog. This is especially exciting for those of us that are “designer series paper connoisseurs” (I prefer this term to “paper hoarder”, don’t you? Lol). The card that I created today is an anniversary card, but it could also be a wedding card, made with the Forever Fern Bundle.

The base layer is this design from the In Good Taste DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Using Gray Granite cardstock, use the embossing branch die to cut two pieces.

2. Using Vellum cardstock, use the leaf die to cut two pieces. This piece will be cut in half when assembling the pieces.

3. Use three of the four accent leaf dies to cut three pieces from Gray Granite cardstock.

4. Stamp the sentiment from Forever Fern stamp set in Rococo Rose ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out with the second largest rectangle Stitched Rectangle Die.

5. Cut a 2” x 4” piece of Champagne Foil Sheet and emboss with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder. This will be layered under the sentiment piece.

Adhere the sentiment piece on top of the embossed Champagne Foil Sheet and use your Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the three small leaf pieces in the corners as shown:

I cut the vellum leaf piece in half and arranged on top of the Gray Granite cardstock piece, place some adhesive on the back of the embossed foil sheet in the corner, and placed over the leaf pieces to adhere to the back. This is repeated for the other corner:

The completed sentiment piece is adhered to the DSP base layer with dimensionals and then adhered to a Gray Granite cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Rococo Rose ink, use the two small branch stamps in Gray Granite ink at the top and bottom as shown, and then use the small splatter stamp in Rococo Rose ink:

Isn’t this a beautiful card with this Designer Series Paper? When I first saw the Forever Fern stamp set, the sentiment I used for this card I thought would be perfect if I ever need to make a wedding card, so I decided to use it for an anniversary card. For my next blog post, I will show you another design from this DSP using a carrying over stamp set and dies from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog!**Products used from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog will be available for customers on June 3, 2020**

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
