Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a beautiful card to send, just because! This card was created with new products from the upcoming 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, the Lovely You Bundle and the Forever Greenery Suite! The Lovely You stamp set has some really beautiful sentiments that are very versatile for sending a “just because” card and I thought pairing this bundle with items from the Forever Greenery Suite would show you how both pair well together!
The base layer is this design from the Forever Greenery DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:
For the rest of the card front, you will need:
1. From the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper, this design.
2. From the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack, 8” of the vanilla open-weave ribbon and enough of the gold trim to tie into a big bow.
3. Cut a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock at ¾” x 2 ¾”, stamp the sentiment from Lovely You in Shaded Spruce ink (in the middle) and use the squared end side of the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch to punch each end.
4. Cut a 1” x 3” piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock and punch each end with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, this will be layered under the sentiment piece from above.
To adhere the laser-cut paper, I used my Fine Tip Glue Pen to place the glue behind the solid gold leaves and at the corners and then placed in the middle of the DSP base layer. TIP-I placed a couple of stamp sets and punches on top of this for a couple of minutes to make sure the laser-cut paper adhered to the DSP:
After that dried, I folded the vanilla weave ribbon in half and adhered to the middle of the base layer. I used a glue dot to adhere the gold trim bow to the ribbon and a drop of glue (FTGP) to adhere the ends to the DSP:
The layered sentiment piece is adhered with dimensionals and the completed piece is adhered to a Shaded Spruce cardstock card base, cut a 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Lovely You in Shaded Spruce ink and the two smallest leaf branches in Shaded Spruce and Soft Sea Foam inks:
Isn’t this a beautiful card to send to someone to let you know that you are thinking of them?? I will admit that I did buy the whole Forever Greenery Suite, I wasn’t too terribly sure about the laser-cut paper or the gold hoops, but I just went ahead and figured I would be able to use them somehow, right? My only hesitation with the laser-cut paper was that I’ve purchased laser-cut paper in the past, wasn’t too terribly impressed as you had to cut it yourself and I just kind of struggled over-all. Well, I actually really like this laser-cut paper, the sheets of the design like I used for this card are pre-cut (so they just come apart from the other pieces) and the thin, outside gold foil piece you can also cut and use! Wondering the dimensions of this card front cover, it’s 3 ¼” x 4 ¾”. **All new products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog will be available for customers to purchase on June 3, 2020**
