Fun birthday card in a snap!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a quick and easy birthday card featuring the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper! This DSP coordinates with four punches from the 2020 Mini and Sale-A-Bration catalogs! While this DSP is fun to use your punches on, I thought I would show you a quick and easy card to make using one of the designs from the DSP and you can make multiples from one sheet, which is another great way to use up your products and stock up on cards to send!

The base layer is this design from the Pleased as Punch DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Glitter Enamel Dots, two in Gorgeous Grape and one in Coastal Cabana.

2. On Whisper White cardstock, stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink and punch out with the Pretty Label Punch. I then used the star/heart/flower background stamp from Birthday Backgrounds in Blushing Bride ink to stamp over the sentiment. I also used the Pretty Label Punch to punch out a piece in Gorgeous Grape cardstock and cut in half, this will be layered under the sentiment.

3. Use enough Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon to tie around the base layer into a bow and color with the Dark Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends.

To assemble to card front, tie the ribbon around the DSP base layer into a bow, use liquid glue to adhere the punched layers together, with the Gorgeous Grape cardstock just peeking out from behind, use dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the ribbon to the DSP base layer, and use your Take Your Pick tool to adhere the Glitter Enamel Dots to the middle of three flowers on the DSP:

This completed piece is adhered to a Gorgeous Grape cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” strip of DSP to the bottom:

Quick and easy card, right?? You can easily make six of these cards with the basic cut of 12” x 12” DSP! Don’t forget that your Stampin’ Blends are a great way to color ribbon so it coordinates with your card! Want to make the ribbon darker? Then color the ribbon with your Stampin’ Blends multiple times, until your achieve the color you want!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
