Hello and welcome to today’s card, which features the new Flowering Foils Designer Series Paper! This beautiful Rose Gold and Silver Foil DSP is part of the second release of Sale-A-Bration products that you can earn with a qualifying $50 (USD) purchase starting tomorrow, March 3rd! To color or not to color with this beautiful foil DSP is up to you! I chose to sponge color this DSP, creating a gradient effect with Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose, and Petal Pink, and pair it with the Floral Essence stamp set from the Annual Catalog!
For the base layer, use this design from the Flowering Foils DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”. I first started sponge coloring with Merry Merlot at the bottom, Rococo Rose in the middle, and Petal Pink at the top (the DSP on the left is to show you how it looks before). Since this paper is thin like a regular designer series paper, be careful coloring and you may need to hold the ends down with your fingers:
For the card front, you will need:
1. Enough Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon to tie around the base layer into a bow or cut a 4 ½” strip to adhere across the middle of the DSP and tie a bow separately, use a glue dot to adhere.
2. On Petal Pink cardstock, stamp the flower in Rococo Rose and Merry Merlot inks three times each, use to coordinating punch to punch out of the cardstock, and on one of the flowers in each color, punch out the middle with the ½” Circle Punch.
3. Stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and use the fourth largest Stitched Nested Label Die to custom cut out*.
4. Use the third largest Stitched Nested Label Die to custom cut out a layering piece for the sentiment*.
*To custom cut using the Stitched Nested Label Die, I first lined up the sentiment with the die, only cut about half way down, and then lined up the bottom and finished cutting out. For the Merry Merlot cardstock piece, I used the sentiment piece as a guide for how big or long I wanted it to be, using the same way to cut out:
For the flowers, I used liquid glue in the middle to adhere them slightly off, which gave me a moment to adjust them as needed. I then used a mini glue dot on the bottom edge of the punched-out petal to fill in on the back side. When done, use your bone folder to curl the petal edges and place the largest Clear Faceted Gem in the flower center:
To assemble the card, first adhere/tie your ribbon, use dimensionals to adhere the layered sentiment over the ribbon, and then use liquid glue to adhere the flowers:
This completed piece is then adhered to a Merry Merlot cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink, and adhere a ¾” x 4” piece of DSP along the bottom that has been sponge colored with Merry Merlot ink:

If you want to make a quick and easy card, you can layer this DSP with color cardstock, punch out a sentiment and have a color layer under the sentiment, and add an embellishment and/or ribbon!
