Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun and sporty birthday card featuring the Country Club Suite! While this card would be great for the golfer in your life, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a golfer you give this to. The stamp set and coordinating dies give you the option to create a card that is geared more towards a golfer or you can also just create a masculine themed card. Hmmm…that sounds like an idea for another day! Lol But for today’s card, I wanted to share how you can use some of the die cut elements to create this fun card!
The base layer is Garden Green cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Absolutely Argyle 3D Embossing folder, using the “debossed” side of the cardstock. Tip-if you notice in my supply items, there is the Stampin’ Spritzer and the Embossing Plate. I spritz the cardstock lightly with water and use the Embossing Plate instead of the normal cutting plate. The new 3D Embossing Folders are slightly thinner and the Embossing Plate helps with embossing as it is slightly thicker:
For the card front, you will need:
1. This design from the Country Club DSP, cut at 4” x 4” (you could make nine of these cards from one sheet of DSP).
2. Using Crushed Curry cardstock, punch out a circle with the 2” Circle Punch and the golf balls with the die.
3. Using a Silver Foil Sheet, use the shield shape and two golf club dies to cut out. I colored the golf club handles with the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends.
4. Using Garden Green cardstock, use the grass and the V-shaped vine piece to cut out.
5. On Night of Navy cardstock, heat emboss the sentiment in White Emboss Powder and cut out with the large banner die.
Here is a close up of the two assembled pieces, I used the putty end of the Take Your Pick to pick-up the golf ball, placed it on a glue dot, and used the pierce end to place the golf ball on the grass. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the V-shaped vine piece to the Crushed Curry circle, snail to adhere the shield shape, and mini dimensionals for the sentiment banner piece:
I used liquid glue to adhere the DSP to the embossed base layer (this helps to move the DSP if needed when placing) and Snail to adhere the circle piece on top of the DSP:
I adhered the grass/golf ball piece and the two golf clubs (Fine Tip Glue Pen) on each side of the circle piece:
This completed piece is adhered to a Crushed Curry cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Garden Green ink and the golf ball on a tee stamp in Memento ink. I used Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to color the tee, Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends for the grass, and Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends for the shadow on the golf ball:
Isn’t this a great masculine themed card? The coordinating dies in this suite don’t just cut, but some of them also emboss! This is such a cool way to add some dimension to those die cut shapes!
