Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a soft and sweet card featuring the Power of Hope stamp set! This stamp set is actually part of a bundle, which includes the Stone 3D Embossing Folder, that you can earn for free with a qualifying $100 purchase from the 2020 Sale-A-Bration catalog! I really wanted the embossing folder and coming with a stamp set is a plus! I’ve seen so many beautiful cards made with this bundle, but I wanted to try something a little different with just the stamp set and pair it with some designer series paper from the annual catalog. I wanted something soft and found the perfect design from the Garden Lane DSP! I also used the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set for the inside of the card, choosing a sentiment I thought would pair nicely with the sentiment on the card front.
The base layer is this design from the Garden Lane DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”:
For the card front, you will need:
1. Four of the pearl white Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins.
2. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the girl in Memento Ink, color the umbrella and belt in Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, the dress in Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends, her hair in Bronze Stampin’ Blends, and her neck in Ivory Stampin’ Blends. Stamp the sentiment underneath in Memento Ink and then cut out with the third largest Stitched Nested Die. Tip-I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image and the sentiment.
3. Use the third largest layering Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and then stamp the lantern along the sides in Soft Sea Foam ink.
To assemble, adhere the Soft Sea Foam cardstock to the base layer DSP, adhere the stamped and colored Stitched Nested Label piece on top of that. I used my Take Your Pick Tool to help place the four pearl white sequins to the DSP base layer:
The completed piece is then adhered to a Soft Sea Foam cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:
For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Mint Macaron, and adhere a ¾” strip of coordinating DSP along the bottom:
Isn’t this such a sweet card? I really love the color combination and the sentiments can really be used for a couple of different occasions, not just for a birthday. At my first attempt at coloring, I originally used the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends, but I just didn’t think it looked right and I didn’t want her hair to look like a “black blob”, so I then tried the bronze and liked that so much better. You can use any colors you like, I also chose to color her dress, umbrella, and belt to coordinate with the colors of the DSP base layer.
