Hello and welcome to today’s card, which feature’s the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set, dies, and DSP to create this beautiful and fun four-fold card! This card template is one of my favorite “go to” designs when I want to make an extra special card for someone! You can make it as detailed or as simple as you like, it is all up to you! One of the things that I love about the Lily Impressions DSP, is that there are so many vibrant colors, which makes creating coordinating lilies so much easier!
Let me first start with your basic measurements for this card:
1. Base Layer-cut your cardstock at 5 ½” x 11” and score at 3 3/8” and 6 ¾”. You will then cut 1” off the top of the first two sections, along the 11” side of the cardstock, and either use your trimmer or snips to trim off at the 6 ¾” score line. You will need to cut another piece of the same colored cardstock at 3” x 3 ½”, score at ½” on the 3” side, and this will give you a “flap” to adhere to the back of the other base layer. This gives you a “four-fold”.
2. Layer #1-this is usually cardstock, cut two pieces at 2 ¼” x 3 ¼”, two pieces at 3 1/8” x 4 ¼”, and one piece at 4” x 5 ¼”.
3. Layer #2-this is usually DSP, cut two pieces at 2” x 3”, cut two pieces at 2 7/8” x 4”, and one piece at 3 ¾” x 5”.
4. Sentiment-cut a piece of WW or VV cardstock at 3 ¼” x 4 ¼”. I changed the dimensions from my original instructions (2 7/8” x 3 ¾”) so that I would have a little bit more room. This will still be hidden behind the card fold.
For this card, I used Pretty Peacock cardstock for the base layer and used liquid glue to adhere the flap to the back of the bigger card base:
I chose only to do one layer with DSP, so you can disregard the instructions of layer #2, and used both sides of this design from the Lily Impressions DSP:
For the front fold of the card, make the following:
1. Use both sides of the smallest flower in Grapefruit Grove ink on Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the coordinating die, and brush Wink of Stella on both.
2. Stamp the small lily pad and small leaf stamps in Garden Green ink on Granny Apple Green cardstock and cut out with coordinating dies.
3. Stamp the medium lily stamp in Melon Mambo ink on Flirty Flamingo cardstock and cut out with the coordinating die.
4. Stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink on Whisper White cardstock, cut out with the third smallest Stitched Nested Labels Die, and use the fourth smallest die to cut out a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock to layer under the sentiment.
Adhere the layered sentiment piece to the detailed design of DSP and then adhere the small lily flowers on top with mini dimensionals. The medium lily, small lily pad, and two leaves are adhered to the solid design of DSP:
For the middle folds of the card, you will need:
1. Stamp the large lily in Blackberry Bliss ink on Vellum cardstock two times and cut out with the coordinating die.
2. Stamp the large and small lily pad stamps in Garden Green ink on Granny Apply Green cardstock and cut out with the coordinating dies.
3. Use the stem and leaf die to cut out one piece from Granny Apple Green cardstock.
4. Use the detailed lily die to cut out a piece from Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
5. Use the Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker to color the top lily petals and the Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker to color the bottom petals and then stamp on Whisper White cardstock. Use the Light Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends to color in the top petals and the Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color in the bottom leaves. This completed piece is cut out with the coordinating die.
6. Use the small detailed die to cut out pieces in Whisper White, Melon Mambo, and Calypso Coral cardstocks.
7. I used the outline in the cardstock from the die above and used a pencil to trace a “background piece” for the detailed die cuts, out of Lovely Lipstick, Flirty Flamingo, and Grapefruit Grove cardstocks. The detailed die cuts are adhered to the background pieces with a Fine Tip Glue Pen.
On the solid design of the DSP, adhere the small lilies and the lily pads. On the detailed DSP piece, first adhere the stamped vellum pieces, adhere the detailed die cut to the colored flower, adhere this on top of the vellum flowers, and then use mini dimensionals to adhere the stem and leaves die cut:
The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink on Whisper White cardstock, this will be adhered to the back layer:
After burnishing each fold with my bone folder, I used liquid glue to adhere each layer to the base layer folds (except the sentiment, I will adhere that after I sign it):

A lot of details for this card, right?? That’s where all those scraps of cardstock come in handy! I also chose to use one design of DSP because when I was trying to decide which ones to use, nothing seemed quite right or to my liking. However, I do like the front look of consistency with using the same design of DSP.
