New Years Theme Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Groups New Years Theme Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour or have hopped on over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my creation with you today, so let’s get started!

I chose to create a card to celebrate the new year, which can be perfect for invitations if you are having a get together, a service professional, or even if you missed someone on your Christmas list! Whether it’s one card or several, this is very easy to make!

To start, your base layer with be a piece of Gold Foil Sheet, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and then a piece of Basic Black cardstock, cut at 3 ¾” x 5”, to layer on top of the Gold Foil sheet:

I used two stamps from the Little Twinkle stamp set to create a “starry night” by heat embossing with Gold Emboss Powder:

For the rest of the card front, you will need:

1. Use the Balloon Bouquet Punch to punch out the balloons from the Gold Foil Sheet (the Basic Black cardstock will hide this) and use the numbers two and zero from the Make a Difference stamp set to heat emboss “2020” in Black Shimmery Emboss Powder.

2. Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 1 ½” x 4 ½” and heat emboss the single star stamp with Gold Emboss Powder.

3. Use the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies to cut out of Gold Glimmer Paper to spell “Cheers”.

To assemble the card, adhere the embossed Basic Black cardstock on top of the Gold Foil Sheet, adhere the embossed Whisper White cardstock piece in the middle, and use Multipurpose Glue to adhere the die cut letters to the embossed Whisper White cardstock:

The balloons are adhered with dimensionals and then this completed piece is adhered to a Thick Whisper White cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, use the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to ink the “Happy New Year” part of the stamp from Itty Bitty Christmas, and heat emboss more stars with Gold Emboss Powder:

Wasn’t that a fun and easy card to make? I chose to cut an extra piece of Whisper White cardstock for the inside, this way if you make a mistake, just flip it over and start again! For me, it never fails that I make some sort of “boo-boo” and this just makes it easier! I also love it when I’m challenged to make a card and try to figure out what I have on hand to make something for an occasion that I normally wouldn’t make!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
