Sending Joy this season

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is another quick and fun Christmas card featuring the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies with the Wrapped in Plaid DSP! Christmas is only one week away! Can you believe it?? Are you ready?? All of my packages have been mailed and only a few cards are left that I need to get in the mail! Right now, my craft room truly looks like “Hurricane Christina” has been through here! So, if you have a few last minute cards to make, then today’s card may be for you! It’s very easy to make, especially for making multiples of.

The base layer is this design from the Wrapped in Plaid DSP, first cutting a ¾” strip off one side, turning, and then cutting at 4”. This will give you one piece at 4” x 5 ¼”, one piece at 2” x 5 ¼”, and one piece at ¾” x 6”:

For the card front, you will need:

1. Cut a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock at 3” x 4”, stamp the tree stamp in Versamark, and heat set with Gold Embossing Powder.

2. Use Hand-Lettered Prose dies to cut the word “JOY” out of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

3. A 5 ¾” piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon to adhere across the DSP base layer.

Adhere the ribbon across the DSP, adhere the embossed cardstock (centered) on top of the base layer, and use Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the “JOY” letters on top of the embossed cardstock. Tip-cutting the Mini Dimensionals in half will hide them under the letters:

This completed piece is adhered to a Shaded Spruce cardstock card base, cut at 5 ½” x 8 ½”, and scored at 4 ¼”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Versamark and heat set with Gold Embossing Powder, and adhere the ¾” strip of DSP across the bottom, trimming off the excess:

I just love the gold embossing with this card! This really is very easy to make multiples of with the die cut letters, you can cut the letters for each card at once with these three letters!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
