All Wrapped Up Christmas Card!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super cute card that is quick and easy to make! This card was inspired by one of the sentiments from Itty Bitty Christmas, which I used for the card front. This is another fun card using just about all of one sheet from the Wrapped in Plaid 6” x 6” DSP to create, which I’ll give you one other way to use part of this DSP at the end of this tutorial.

To start, cut this design from the DSP, ¾” from one side, turn 90 degrees and cut at 4”. This will give you one piece at ¾” x 6”, one piece at 4” x 5 ¼”, and one piece at 2” x 5 ¼”. The 4” x 5 ¼” will be the base layer:

For the card front you will need:

1. Two piece of Shaded Spruce/Gold Striped Ribbon, long enough to go across the DSP vertically and horizontally.

2. Enough ribbon to create a double bow, if you are not sure how, check out this helpful video here.

3. About 6” of Linen Thread.

4. A 1 ¼” x 1 ¼” piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink.

5. Cut a 1 ½” piece of Gold Foil sheet, punch one end with the Detailed Tag Topper Punch, adhere the sentiment piece, trim off excess foil sheet with snips or paper trimmer.

Adhere the ribbon across the DSP like a present:

Tie the Linen Thread thru the tag hole, tie into a knot, and adhere the sentiment to the DSP, laying the thread across the middle of the ribbon:

Adhere the double ribbon with glue dots in the middle of the ribbon pieces, also securing the thread, trim off any extra thread. This completed piece is adhered to a Shaded Spruce cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, and adhere the ¾” strip of DSP across the bottom, trimming off any extra:

Isn’t this a super cute card that is so easy to make?? This is a great way to use up your ribbon!! So, now you see that I did not use the 2” strip of DSP on this card, how would you use it? On your envelope!! I always decorate my envelopes and if you have the Beautiful Layers Dies, then you know that there is a die that will cut the DSP to fit perfectly on the flap of the envelope! Don’t have this die set? You can easily trim the DSP to fit the envelope flap!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
