Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a super cut winter themed card featuring the Snow Front stamp set! Adding a bit of shimmer with the Wink of Stella pen and some texture with Shimmery Crystal Effects is a great way to accent to your Christmas cards. Keep in mind, that when you use Shimmery Crystal Effects, you need to set your project aside to let it dry. But, don’t let that deter you from using this awesome accessory from the Holiday Catalog!
To make the scenery with the Snow Front stamp set:
1. cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 2 ¾” x 4”.
2. The mountain, snowman, and both tree stamps (first, second, and third generation stamping) are stamped in Gray Granite ink.
3. The cardinals are in Cherry Cobbler ink.
4. The lake is in Balmy Blue ink, stamped off once.
5. I used the Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends around the lake and the Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends around the mountain tops and side of the snowman.
6. The sky is filled in with an Aqua Painter and Balmy Blue ink.
7. The lake is filled in with Shimmery Crystal Effects. Set this aside for an hour or so, which you can go about making some other cards, take a shower, clean your house, take a nap or ?? LOL
The base layer is Cherry Cobbler cardstock, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D EF, spritzed with water first. The next layer is this design from the Wrapped in Plaid DSP, cut at 3” x 5”. You will need enough Gray Granite Textured Weave Ribbon to tie into a bow around the embossed base layer:
Adhere the DSP to the embossed base layer, high enough to allow room for the ribbon to be tied into a bow:
Once the Shimmery Crystal Effects is dry, adhere the cardstock to the DSP with dimensionals. I then used some Wink of Stella on the mountains, cardinals, and snowman:
For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas in Cherry Cobbler ink, and adhere a ½”x 6” strip of DSP along the bottom, trimming off the excess:
Don’t you love the added element of crystal effects? While it does take a bit to dry, you can easily do this part first, get the rest of the card cut and assembled, and then just add the scenery. Another thing, the way I cut this DSP, 1” off one side, turn 90 degrees and cut at 3”, and cut the 1” piece in half, will give you cut DSP for two cards out of one piece of DSP.
