Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a fun, but simple card made with the Wrapped in Plaid 6” x 6” Specialty DSP and the Itty Bitty Christmas Bundle! This week I’ve shared some simple cuts to get the most out of your 6” x 6” DSP and today I’m adding some additional elements with four different punches. The cut for the DSP is the same as my previous blog post, so you can make four cards out of four pieces of DSP. Itty Bitty Christmas is a must if you are looking for a variety of sentiments and the detailed dies that are a part of the bundle can add a simple, but elegant, detail to your card.
With this design from the DSP, you can cut the design any which side and it will not matter if your card base is landscape or portrait. You start by cutting ¾” strip off one side, turn the DSP 90 degrees, and cut at 4”. You will end up with 3 pieces measuring 4” x 5 ¼”, 2” x 5 ¼”, and ¾” x 6”. This will be your base layer:
For the card front:
1. Use the 1 1/8” Scallop Circle Punch on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink.
2. Use the 1 3/8” Scallop Circle Punch on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock, this will be layered under the sentiment piece.
3. Use the detailed star die to cut out of a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. You will also want to use the single star die to cut a piece from the Gold Foil Sheet for the inside of the card.
4. For the 2” strip of DSP, use the Banner Triple Punch on one end and the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch on the other end.
5. Cut a piece of Braided Linen Trim long enough to tie thru the top of the tag top of the DSP.
The card base is Night of Navy cardstock, cut at 4” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”. Adhere the DSP to the card base, tie the linen trim thru the tag top, and then adhere the tag to the middle of the DSP base layer:
Adhere the gold foil star die cut out to the DSP layers using your Fine Tip Glue Pen, adhere the scalloped layers together, and use a dimensional to adhere on top of the die cut stars. I used three of the 6mm Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to add some extra gold to the card front:
For the inside of the card, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink, adhere the ¾” strip of DSP along the bottom and trim off the excess, and adhere the single foil star with the Fine Tip Glue Pen:
Lots of elements on this card that are easy to make! If you are looking for a stamp set bundle that easily coordinates with DSP, Itty Bitty Christmas is definitely worth looking at! Lots of sentiments and you can change up the look with the coordinating dies. If you have the Big Shot Precision Base Plate, I highly recommend using this to cut out any paper, makes it much easier to get those little pieces out! I hope you have enjoyed this week of 6” x 6” DSP cutting, since this is my only DSP for my holiday card making, I will always share how I cut this paper.
