Christmas Holiday Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Stamp it Group’s Christmas Holiday Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour or have hopped over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my creation with you today, so let’s get started!

My Christmas card that I am sharing with you is very easy to make, but will make such a “WOW!” statement! When I saw the Itty Bitty Christmas Bundle in the Holiday Catalog, I knew I just had to have this for my cards. I just love the sentiments and the coordinating dies and when you add your favorite DSP, ribbon, and embellishments, your cards are sure to be treasured this holiday season.

I first started with the snowflake die, cutting out two pieces from a Silver Foil Sheet. I then used a Stampin’ Sponge with liquid glue to spread the glue on half of the die cut snowflakes, sprinkled Ice Stampin’ Glitter, and then repeated the process on the other half of the die cut snowflake. TIP-I protected my work surface by placing the Silicone Craft Sheet under the die cut when sponging the liquid glue and sprinkled the glitter over the die cut snowflake with a scrap piece of paper underneath, to easily pour the excess glitter back into the container. Set the two die cuts aside to dry:

The base layer is this design from the Mercury Acetate Sheet, cut at 4” x 5 ¼”, and the next layer is this design from the Wrapped in Plaid DSP, cut at 3” x 5”:

For the rest of the card front you will need:

1. Two of the die cut snowflake pieces with the Ice Stampin’ Glitter

2. Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink and cut out with the smallest Stitched Rectangle Die.

3. Use the second smallest Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a layering piece for your sentiment out of Night of Navy Cardstock.

Adhere the DSP to the Mercury Acetate Sheet and then use your Fine Tip Glue Pen to place dots of glue in strategic places on the back of the die cut snowflake pieces to adhere to the DSP:

Adhere the Stitched Rectangle Die cardstock pieces together and then adhere to the card front with dimensionals, one on each end. This completed piece is adhered to a Night of Navy cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, and then use your Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the two Night of Navy cardstock snowflakes. This ties the snowflakes from the card front to the inside, you can always cut a few more to add if you like:

I chose to adhere the glitter to the snowflake pieces to really give them that look and feel of snow, and I just love how it turned out. I did first try using the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the glitter, but that was a little daunting, so I then tried with a sponge and liquid glue and that worked so much better! I also used a small paint brush to gently brush off any excess glitter before adhering the die cut snowflakes to the card front. If you are on the fence about Ice Stampin’ Glitter, I really like it! Sure, it’s a little messy, but it’s not your typical glitter that gets all over the place by just opening the lid! Lol

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
