Not your typical fall card!

Hello and welcome to today’s card, which is a beautiful fall themed card, but not your usual fall themed colors! As I am wrapping up my Thanksgiving cards, I wanted to use one last design from the Come to Gather DSP and keep up with the color combo of Mint Macaron and Pretty Peacock (which I love). I also wanted to incorporate the Silvery Shimmer Metallic Ink into the card, since I’ve used the gold and copper inks in previous cards, and this worked perfectly to give the embossed cardstock a “distressed” look!

The base layer is this design from the Come to Gather DSP, cut at 4” x 5 ¼” (vertical cut):

For the card front you will need:

1. Cut a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock at 3” x 4 ¼”, emboss with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder, use the Silvery Shimmer Metallic Ink pad and “drag” it across the embossed cardstock, speed up the drying with your heat tool, and then use the Jet Black Stazon pad to “drag” the pad across the embossed cardstock.

2. Cut a piece of the Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon to tie into a double knot, trimming off any excess.

3. Use the third smallest layering Rectangle Stitched Framelits to cut out from Whisper White cardstock. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the jug in Pretty Peacock ink, coloring in with Light and Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, and used the Color Lifter just in the middle of the jug to make it lighter. I used a post it note to cover the jug before stamping the wheat stamp in Pretty Peacock in the middle and then in Mint Macaron on the sides, first and second generation stamping on each side:

The stamped and colored cardstock is adhered on top of the embossed cardstock and use a glue dot to adhere the knotted ribbon:

The base layer DSP is adhered to a Mint Macaron cardstock card base, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”. The embossed cardstock piece is adhered on top with dimensionals:

For the inside, cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink, and adhere a coordinating piece of ¾” x 4” DSP at the bottom:

What I love about this card is the colors, but, you can make this card for any occasion by using a different sentiment on the inside! So, even if this design from the Come to Gather DSP is not your favorite or used for your fall and Thanksgiving cards, you can easily use this design for any other occasion!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
