Thanksgiving Theme Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Stamp It Group’s Thanksgiving Theme Blog Hop! My name is Christina Miller and you are visiting my blog, Christina’s Creative Corner! Whether this is your first stop on the blog hop tour or have hopped over from another blog, thank you for letting me share my creation with you today, so let’s get started!

For my card, I chose to combine products from the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog to create this fun and easy Thanksgiving Card. The new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint was a must for me, not just to create fun snow accents, but I immediately thought of the Country Home stamp set, specifically the stamp with cotton stems, and what a fun way to accent this stamp! Combining Copper Foil with the beautiful colors from the Come to Gather DSP will certainly make your card stand out!

I first started with the jug and fall flower stamps on Very Vanilla cardstock in Memento Ink. TIP-Use your Stamparatus to help these images line up on your cardstock:

Color in the leaves with Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends, the flowers and “berries” with Dark Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends, and color the “flower head” (not sure exactly what this is called) with Light Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends. The jug was first colored along the outline with Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends and then I used Light Soft Suede to blend with the Dark Soft Suede, to bring the border of the jug together. Use the Dark Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends in the very middle and then Light Pumpkin Pie around the Dark Pineapple Punch. I went back and forth between Light Pumpkin Pie and Dark Pineapple Punch coloring in until I achieved a “coppery” look. If you need to add any more brown, use Light Soft Suede:

This completed piece is “fussy” cut out and I used my heat tool with the puff paint on the cotton buds:

For the rest of the card front you will need:

1. A 2 ¼” piece of Copper Foil Sheet and embossing with the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder. The foil sheet is slightly longer because it will lose some length (very slightly) from the embossing folder.

2. A 2” piece of Come to Gather DSP, in this design.

3. The completed jug.

4. A piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink, and cut out with the largest die from the Stitched Labels Dies:

The base layer is Merry Merlot cardstock, cut at 4 ¼” x 11”, and scored at 5 ½”, the card will open from right to left. First adhere the embossed foil sheet to the card base and then adhere the DSP. (Sorry the picture is a little blurry!):

I adhered the sentiment and flower jug with dimensionals to the foil and DSP layer and added three of the smallest Holiday Rhinestone Jewels in Pumpkin Pie:

For the inside sentiment, cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 4” x 5 ¼”, stamp and color the jug the same way as you did for the card front, and stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink:

Don’t you just love this card?? I really love the combination of the colors used! If “fussy cutting is not your thing” (totally understand!), you can cut the cardstock out with one of the Stitched Nested Labels and still stamp and colors as I did. I would also flip the sentiments, using the smaller inside sentiment on the card front and then the large card front sentiment on the inside!

I am an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator located in Norfolk, Virginia and was first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004 when I attended my very first card class with my Mother-in-Law and I was immediately hooked! I first started out by making simple holiday cards and over the years as my stash has grown, so have my card and craft making skills. It has always warmed my heart when family and friends love my cards, but they actually keep them! In 2016 I decided to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and figured I could just do it for a hobby, but now I am going to branch out for all to world to see. So grab your favorite beverage, sit in your favorite chair, and join me as I share my cards and crafts with you! Enjoy!
